Waycross, Ga.

place at Satilla during the past year and
reported that the Co-op had experienced another successful and productive year. Reyes noted, “We have kept
the power flowing, kept the cost of
electricity as low as possible and supported the communities we serve.”
He spoke of future challenges in
pending legislation and rate structures
that could hamper efforts to provide

reiterated, “We will meet those challenges head-on and do everything in
our power to supply quality, reliable

‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’
C
ontinuing the annual tradition of the Christmas
Card Contest, Satilla REMC asked students in
grades K-5 throughout its service area to share their
imaginative artwork on the theme “Santa Claus is
Coming to Town.”
Satilla received approximately 1,500 entries
from elementary and primary schools within its
service area. We would like to congratulate Kelli
Poppell as this year’s overall winner. She is the
daughter of Steven and Angie Poppell and attends
Odum Elementary School. Her teacher is Susan
McCrary. Kelli will receive a $25 gift certificate and
class party for her effort and creativity.
Satilla REMC extends its appreciation to area
teachers, who helped coordinate and complete the
contest. Although each student is truly a winner for
participating, a grade-level winner was chosen from
among the submissions and will receive a Wal-Mart
gift certificate.
The cards on these pages are the artwork of
the overall winner and the grade-level winners.
