Wild Rose Village Board accepts bid for GMC truck
The Wild Rose Village Board
approved a bid for the street
maintenance truck during an April
2 meeting.
Sealed bids regarding the 2000
GMC truck the village maintenance
department had been using were
opened during the meeting, and
the Yeska Brothers Farms’ bid of
the millpond, the board decided
to drop the idea because it would
take a long time for the ground to
dry up sufficiently to allow heavy
equipment on it.
A representative of the Wild
Rose Airport Association had
addressed the board on the subject
of cleaning up brush after logging
community garden. The subject
will be brought back to the May
meeting after Eckstein sees how
much interest there is from the area
residents for having one. There
may be a grant available.
In the library and community
center report it was noted that
the library will be replacing two
for the various items that need to be
placed in it. It should be delivered
soon.
An update on the dam safety
grant was unfavorable news, as
the village was turned down for
the grant to repair the dam. The
village has another year in which
JaneMarie Erickson, a sophomore
music theatre major at Ripon College from
Redgranite, will perform with the Ripon
College Symphonic Wind Ensemble under
the direction of Carl Rath on April 13.
The concert will begin at 3:15 p.m. in
Demmer Recital Hall, C.J. Rodman Center
for the Arts, on the Ripon College campus.
Admission to the concert is free.
Concert selections include “Americans
We,” a march by Henry Fillmore; “Festival
Prelude,” by Alfred Reed; “Longing For
Sunrise,” by Daniel Baldwin; “impulse,” by
Bradley Meholick; and “Film Music Suite,”
by Francis Clifford.
“Film Music Suite” is a crowd-pleaser in
four movements, each of which highlights
a different type of music used in films.
“Horror” brings to mind the music heard
in early classics, such as “Frankenstein.”
“Romance” is very melodic and touches the
