Rustenburg – Summer and sunshine evoke images of green lawns and sunblock and this season cricket
fanatics can look forward to some exciting cricket action at Laerskool Rustenburg, where Leon’s Motors
sponsors a cricket initiative with friendlies played on most weekends.
On Saturday, 4 October, the Larries will take on the Boo-yah team and the next day the Snakes will face
the Buddies at 10:00 with the Kwezi’s pitched against Ka-boom. The players, bats and balls are ready and
the wickets are planted securely for the season’s onslaught of enthusiastic cricketers.
“This is an outing for the whole day as there are enough playgrounds for the children while mom and dad
enjoy the cricket. Everyone is invited,” Mariette van Deventer, one of the event organisers who can be contacted on 072 447 6723 for more information, said.

WE CARE with the Wee-Care Golf Day
Rustenburg – Companies from all over Rustenburg joined in on an exciting
Golf day in aid of the Wee-Care (G-Om) project this Tuesday, 30 September.
There was a strong and heartfelt cause behind the laughter and good spirit of
a fun golf day; this event was hosted to benefit needy children from the Weecare project, and was organized by Martin and Sandra Capazoria from Caplock
Mining and Electrical.
As Linda Grobler from the Wee Care Project explained, “Events like these make
it much easier for us to do our part in providing food and education to disadvantaged children.”
Operating for many years now, the Wee-care Project has been taking care of
needy children from Rustenburg and surrounding areas, regardless of their
race or denomination and from early 2001 the Wee-Care project expanded its
operations to also take in pre-schoolers. The project is completely dependent
on donations from within the community. All staff members are volunteers who
work without any remuneration; and the Wee-care Project does not receive any
financial support from the state, Lotto or international organisations.
That’s why it meant such a great deal when eleven teams from in and around
Rustenburg entered into this year’s Wee-Care Golf Day. The teams who participated was; Caplock Mining and Electrical, Gantt Chart Project Management,
Windscreen Inn, PCL Labs, Lebola Mining, Sunbake Rustenburg, Jacques Angelo, Old Mutual Client Care, Alromax, Accuplas and ERA Properties.
Even if companies could not compete, they could still show their support by
sponsoring a T or a green. Businesses who sponsored the day included; MR.
AD; Gantt Chart Project Management; PCL Labs; Sunbake; Old Mutual Client
Care; Bophirima Print and Marketing; ATI Systems; Bolt and Engineering Distributors; Ivory Tree Game Lodge; No-Break Power Services; Trappers Trading
Rustenburg and Camper-down.
The guys from the Wee-care project wished to thank all the contributors and
participators who assisted in making this golf day a huge success.
