Happy fall! This is by far my favorite season, the food, smells,
leaves, and all the fun things to do around us, Patterson's
Family Fun Fest being top of my list! I hope you will join us
at Patterson's on October 4.
Now is the time to renew your membership for 2012-2013,
you can do so on our website, www.cveca.net. I hope that
you will bring a friend to the Halloween Party that may be
interested in joining our group, we would love to grow even
more and make our 25th year as a group the biggest and best
ever!

Membership Renewal
Time to Renew your CVECA Membership!!! We would like to apologize for any technical errors if you
have attempted to renew already. Any and all errors have been corrected, and it is now easier than
ever to renew your CVECA Membership!! Simply log onto www.cveca.net, and either pay via pay pal
($26) or click on mail in payment to send in your check ($25). Either way please take a moment to log
on and fill out your current information, this helps us to keep track of all of our fabulous members. A
huge THANK YOU to those who have already done so! If you joined CVECA on or after June 1, 2012
your membership will be covered until September of 2013. Otherwise, please consider renewing your

Couples Night Out!!
Couples Night Out is just two weeks away!! We hope you can join us for a beer and
wine tasting at Chuck’s Fine Wines in Chagrin Falls, on Saturday, October 13 from 7:009:00. We will be sampling many different seasonal beers as well as a variety of wines. Appetizers will be
provided! The cost is $35/couple. Please RSVP to the evite. Hope to see you there!
Party Planning…Save the Date!
Mark your calendars! The CVECA Halloween party Evite will be in your inbox soon.
The party is Saturday October 20 from 10-12pm at Petitti’s Garden Center in
Bainbridge.
This year the Halloween party is also an opportunity to bring a friend to check out
what CVECA can offer. Additionally, it is our event with various local sponsors for a
raffle. Everyone gets a ticket just for coming AND you get 5 tickets for bringing a
friend! Hopefully you are wondering just what the raffle prizes include, so check this
list out:
Cuts 'n Curls gift card, Goldfish Swim School free party
($450 value!!), movie tickets, photo booth for your
next party or family gathering, a holiday workshop at
Fairmont Arts Center, gift baskets & more!! You can
buy more tickets at the party too.

Card making for Charlie
CVECA kids had a great time decorating cards
for local heart transplant patient Charlie
McMicken. The cards were then delivered to
his hospital room along with a gift certificate for
CIBO bought with money donated by member
families and CVECA.
Cow Tales
Nature Hike
Cow Tales at Hastings Dairy was so much fun and
informative for the kids. They learned how milk
is produced and watched a truck come to pick up
the milk, where it is then taken to be made into
cheese. The children also had the chance to pet
the cows and baby calves, make a craft and enjoy
a snack. In addition, there is a corn pit, indoor
play area and outdoor farm-themed playground at
Hastings Dairy. If you are able to make it, there is
another event coming up on Oct. 12th at Hastings
Dairy!
We had a lot of fun on our bird walk and got to
see a lot of really amazing owls! The kids had a
great time listening to animal stories as well.
Mom’s Night Out
Nine of us descended upon Petals and Pearls Tea Room
and Boutique in Aurora for a great Mom’s Night Out!
More wine than tea was consumed and some of us even
did a little holiday shopping! We hope you can join us
for our next night out on Thursday, November 29 at
6:30 PM for a Holiday Bazaar at Helen Raymond’s.
Fundraising info!
Another CVECA & Guido's fundraiser will be coming in either November or December. More details to
follow. Now that school has started, make sure all your lunch totes, water bottles and jackets come home
safely with your kids...and how can you do that?? By ordering Name Bubbles!
Name Bubbles are press-and-stick labels that can be placed on your child's belongings, especially on items
that your child will be taking to school or day care. You can see an example and order online
at www.NameBubbles.com. 20% of every CVECA label order will be donated back. Just be sure to enter
CVECA2012 at checkout, then click "Apply" to activate the code. These are great for your own children
or to give as gifts.

Sunshine Alert!
Do you know of someone who recently had a baby, is suffering from an
illness, or could just use a little extra help? The CVECA Sunshine
Committee is here to help!! We assist by delivering
a
couple of meals to these families, but we are only
as good as the information we receive so please

someone we can help, also you can now
request a bit of sunshine online by going to our
website at www.cveca.net, click on "home" in
the upper left hand corner, and click on sunshine
committee underneath that at the very bottom, then
you can fill out a request form which we will get started on right away. I
cannot say THANK YOU enough to Jill Farrar and Missy Spellacy who have
generously donated their time and cooking skills to help out. The response
to Foodtidings has been just tremendous, and we couldn't do it without you!!

Wine and Food Enthusiasts
The Wine and Food Enthusiast (a.k.a. “cooking club”) is pleased to present our next three months of events.
These events typically are designed for moms only. We hope you can join us for some delicious food and
easy conversation. Evites are sent for all events, so please RSVP to the Evite. If you have questions or ideas
to share for event themes, kindly email Kristen Rankin, [email protected]. Please note: unique
event details are specified under each events description (i.e. RSVP deadlines, costs, and specific
instructions). We look forward to seeing you at our next gathering. Bon Appetite!!
October Event: The Olive Scene- A Private Small Bite Tasting
Weds, October 17 at 7:00 pm
100 N. Main Street, Chagrin Falls OH 44022
A small bites menu will be featured. This menu includes: cheese splinters with assorted balsamic vinegars,
strawberries macerated with balsamic vinegars, mixed green salad with build your own vinaigrette, assorted
olives, and cake bites with balsamic vinegar drizzle. Iced Tea will be served, but moms are welcome (and
encouraged) to bring a bottle of wine to share.
Cost: $15 per person, please consider bringing a beverage to share
Min/Max number attending- 8 minimum with a maximum of 20 moms
RSVP, by October 7 to Evite.

Manga, manga! Come join us for a fun night at the CVECA Pizzeria. Each mom will be making her own
personal pizza. CVECA will supply the pizza dough. We ask each guest bring her favorite sauce(s) and/or
topping(s) to share. In addition, consider bringing a favorite beverage to accompany your tasty pizza.
Cost: Favorite pizza sauce(s) and topping(s)to share (if possible, please let us know via your Evite response
your selected toppings, to ensure we have a variety of toppings), favorite beverage to accompany your pizza
creation.
December Event: SWEETS TO SHARE!!! A holiday cookie/candy exchange

Calling all cookie bakers (or samplers)- Start browsing those cookbooks, favorite magazines, or websites.
Consider asking your favorite bakers (i.e. grandmas/friends/relatives) for a much beloved recipe. We will be
sharing cookies and holiday cheer in the Michalek kitchen. Save the date so you can join up for a festive
moms night out.
