Concerning ourselves with the gingival architecture throughout the treatment planning and treatment delivery stages optimizes the final outcome. This hands-on and lecture presentation will address important aspects of developing the gingival emergence, accurately relaying this emergence to the lab, and finally supporting the gingival outline with custom abutments. The evening will begin with a short presentation by Dr. Raman Kohli and Mr. Fadi Touma, which will illustrate the advantages of customized treatment over conventional treatment. The presentation will be followed by a hands-on training session led by Dr. Kohli and Mr. Touma. After thirteen years in general practice he was accepted at the Boston University Goldman School of Dentistry where he received a Master’s degree in Oral Biology and Periodontology. After graduating, Dr. Kohli practiced in Boston before setting up his practice in Burlington, Ontario. He continues his academic involvement at Boston University as a contributing author to two Periodontal textbooks. He worked in a prosthodontic specialty office from 1994 to 2001. In 2001, Mr. Touma started his own specialty laboratory focusing on full mouth reconstruction, implants and cosmetic dentistry. He has extensive implant knowledge and experience with most implant systems. Mr. Touma holds an American certification in addition to his Canadian registration. He is currently the DENTSPLY Implants District Sales Manager and Technical Advisor for laboratories for the Eastern region of Canada.
