LAKESHORE LAMPOST • PAGE 6 Residents’ Council MEET YOUR REPRESENTATIVES: The Lakeshore Place Residents’ Council executive was elected in September. The members will serve on the committee for the next year. They include: Lloyd Gesner President Michael O’Connor June Hood Treasurer Listen UP!!! By Lloyd Gesner Her name was Lily. As a newly minted teacher, she was my mentor. Always on top of things, she was a model of professionalism. Her classes were a joy to behold—well planned, well prepared and well presented. She knew each of her students better than they knew themselves. Now in her 80s, no longer children, her students still remember what “Miss West said.” What we—teachers—knew that the students didn’t know was that in June, when the school year was almost over, she wouldn’t let down her hair and say, “We made it, guys, let’s dance!” It’s good advance for all of us. June is a red rose month. It’s 2016 and WE MADE IT. So let’s enjoy the weather, the garden, the excursions and each other. Let’s keep Lakeshore Place hopping!!!
