Erina HS was the best school day ever. We did music, dance, sport,
drama, smoking ceremony for Aboriginal healing.
Lastly, we saw some hens and baby chickens. We played a game of
footy. It was the best game of touch.
Some of the high school students played the didgeridoo whilst the girls
used the clapping sticks, before we started the activities.

Stage One – Taronga Park
Zoo Excursion
On Wednesday 22nd June Stage One went to
Taronga Park Zoo as a part of their History Unit – The
Past in the Present. This term, Stage 1 have been
looking at Sydney Symbols including the Sydney
Harbour Bridge, ANZAC War Memorial, Opera
House, Centrepoint Tower and Taronga Park Zoo.
The students had a wonderful time and got to see many Sydney Landmarks. The Zoo is celebrating being 100 years old
this year, which shows how long Taronga Park has been a part of Sydney. Students got the opportunity to watch the
‘Dreaming and Living on the Land’ show and some students also got the chance to watch the ‘Bird Show’ with the fabulous
Sydney Harbour in view. Other features were: Reptile World, African Safari, Meerkat Encounter, Chimpanzees and all the
other wonderful animals.
I would like to congratulate the students on their exemplary behaviours on the coaches and at the zoo. Thanks to all the
parents who came and helped on the day, the Stage 1 teachers and especially Mrs Norris who organised our excursion
with the help of Mrs McCarthy.

MEETING
Our next meeting will be on Friday 22nd July straight after the morning assembly. We will meet in
the hall. We would love you to join us for a cuppa. You are welcome to bring younger children, who
will be able to play in the hall whilst we have our meeting. We are hoping that having a morning
meeting will enable people who are not able to attend our Thursday evening meetings, to join us
and find out more about what the P&C does. We look forward to meeting you.
Have a great week and enjoy the school holidays
