Hooded Fang’s new album Gravez features 10song set that builds off the "spontaneous, lively,
heavily splintered guitar sound" present on their
2011 effort Tosta M ista , though the new album
apparently branches out with touches of '60s
tropicália ("Wasteland"), psychedelia, the blues and
more.
"It's not called Gravez for any real reason but may
refer to the impending lurk of death," singer/producer Dan Lee said in a statement. "Some of it is about
instances in life, some of it general imagery, or nonsense."
The LP was recorded at a friend's studio and features demos tweaked in Lee's bedroom, and is also the
first record to feature the current lineup of Lee, bassist April Aliermo, guitarist Lane Halley and drummer
D.Alex Meeks.
Hooded Fang start a North American tour in London, ON, on May 29, with more Canadian stops
scheduled in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC.

The legendary lo-fi band Cleaners from Venus formed in the small town of Wivenhoe, southeast England at the turn of 1980s by Martin Newell. The
man, the myth, the rock singer and part-time kitchen porter with a love of sunny 1960s pop music, punk rock and musical comedy. He never cared
much for any kind of musical rule book and broke new ground with music that garnered a cult following and a highly-influential sound that continues
to inspire. These 4 albums span the next chapter in the unveiling of the entire discography from the band (1981-1985). One album included here
contains 12 unreleased songs, making it the first “new release from the band in over 25 years, dubbed “A Dawn Chorus: Early Cleaners and Beyond.’

L’écriture est désinvolte et la légèreté est dans l’auto dérision et la prise de hauteur. Elle nous emmène dans
les méandres d’histoires bas de gamme - celles où l’on se ment, où l’on se rate, où rien ne se passe comme
on veut. Elle se moque des relations légères, vécues comme le reste de notre époque, rapidement et sans état
d’âme, de la surconsommation d’amour, et de tout ce qu’on jette : les relation(s) cheap.

des Griots et du monde des chasseurs, il existe depuis la nuit des temps (environ 12e siècle). Connu initialement sous le nom de Dozo N’Goni (le n’Goni
des chasseurs), il était l’emblème des chasseurs et de leur confrérie, l’instrument d’accompagnement des récits de chasse, des jeux musicaux entre
chasseurs, des louanges, mais également de la médecine traditionnelle et de la communion avec les esprits. Dans les années 50, Alata Bourleil et
Yoro Diallo, alors jeunes musiciens se réapproprient le N’Goni, désirant le mettre en valeur hors du cadre traditionnel et populaire en introduisirent le
nom Kamele’n’Goni (le n’goni des jeunes).
