What if your life drastically changed at this very moment? Has the thought of losing something
close to you ever crossed your mind? Most would say no due to the terrible idea of not having what’s dear to
their heart. Not everyone in the world has the privilege of being able to say they have the opportunities we
do. Most things in life we take for granted, not thinking how our lives would be different.
Today in the United States we are lucky enough to be born into a country where we have the
freedom and opportunity to grow as human beings. Other countries are not so lucky. It’s time that we stand
up and be the voices for those who are suffering. We have to take the sorrow from them and establish a new
faith that all this will end. It hurts to read these stories, watch these videos, and hear these cries about how
human beings are being treated like they aren’t worth anything. No one should have the capability of taking
over someone else’s life. There are so many people out there that are crying for help, and praying to be
heard. We can be the voice they never had and answer their prayers, even if small steps are made. It is a
definite beginning.
Millions of young adults and children are being abused or damaged by older men. Boys 6 years old
and older are taken from their families and trained to become soldiers. Girls are being traded from person
to person, being forced to suffer sex slavery and early motherhood. We can imagine what it would be like to
wake up and have nothing, but there are people out there actually living the nightmare. Not only as a school,
but also as a community we have the strength to be able to open people’s eyes into the reality of what this
world has come to. Two hands can create a foundation, but it takes hundreds of hands to support and carry
the dream forward.
Interview with Mr. Karosen
What encouraged or influenced you to start the Human Rights Club? I've always been extremely interested in promoting equality amongst all people. I've wanted to get more
involved at Gunderson and starting a club about something I'm passionate about seemed like a natural idea.
Why and how do you think this club will make a difference to the school? I hope the Human Rights Club at Gunderson will educate + inform students/staff/community about
Human Rights abuses that have and do occur in the USA and other countries along with promoting equality
amongst all people, no matter the condition (religion, color, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, physical
capability, etc.)
What type of activities or events will the club be involved in?
My thoughts are the students will participate in protesting and raising their voices for people that are
abused or taken advantage of in our society, which includes writing letters to our local, state, and federal
politicians. I would love to have a Human Rights Film Festival one day at Gunderson as well. The students
who are involved in the club will determine the future activities and events.

During the summer, Corbin
the athletic director, allowed
anyone who was dedicated and
willing to work hard, come and
work out, but also have some
time on the field. He worked us
pretty hard! So now I know
what to expect from him during
the season. We even had a
scrimmage against the staff an
the admins. It was a great
feeling to be on the field again.
I am most excited for our
season to already start, but we
have a long way to go. We are
looking forward to new
incoming players, experienced
or not. Corbin was talking
about having some
conditioning/work outs to
dedicated players sometime
soon! Anyone who is thinking
about joining the team should
come out to show your
dedication. You should also
come out to get a taste of what
it's going to be like this season.
Just be on alert for
announcements for a meeting!
We hope to see you girls come
out! If you decide to come and
join us, you must have a
physical turned into Corbin!
Also, bring a towel and plenty
of water! You'll need it! http://cdn6.triplepundit.com/wp-content/

The Gunderson football team has high goals
for this year. We have been working very hard all
summer long and want to change the stereo types
that everyone has towards us. As being one of the
members of the team I think we are going to do very
well this season. We have put in so much time and
effort in each practice and will be doing it until we
reach our goal. Our goal is to win our division and
get the CCS title. We have the chance to do our very
best and we are not going to give up. This year we all
have been committed to the sport and it helps a lot

Top Summer Music Hits
By: Cindy Zuniga & Dominique Gonzalez
This summer 2012, a lot of new music albums have been released but only a few have made it to the top. On
June 19th, Justin Bieber's album "Believe" including his hit single "Boyfriend" was big success for him as an up
and coming artist. His album became a worldwide hit within a few days of its release. Everyone got more "Bieber
Fever" this summer.
!
R&B and Hip-Hop artist Chris Brown released his most recent album "Fortune" including his hit single
"Turn Up The Music" on July 3rd. Chris has done so much advertisements for his album such as television
interviews, radio interviews, billboard posters on many popular cities, posting pictures of his graffiti art on Twitter
and also trying to communicate more with his fans known as Team Breezy. He was hoping for "Fortune" to be #1
album in the U.S within the first week, but instead it became #1 album in the U.K.
Another up and coming R&B and Hip-Hop artist is Frank Ocean. Frank had mixtape albums but finally has an
official album called "Channel ORANGE" including his hit single "Thinking About You" released on July 9th.
Frank didn't really promote his album the way other music artist do, but it was his secret of coming out of the closet
about being bisexual that made people listen closely the lyrics on this album. It also surprised him that the album
became one of the best albums in the music charts today.
!
Every summer there is always a catchy summer song. Well 2012's summer song just happens to be "Call Me
Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepson. This song was everywhere!, such as radio, television, clubs, beaches ect. Carly Rae's
song skyrocketed the charts as released early this summer. Many YouTube subscribers covered this song. It also
even has our administrators on campus singing it too! With that said, congrats to Carly Rae Jepson and her big
success!

Tyler the Creator from OFWGKTA also known as
Odd Future has grasped the attention of many. Tyler
not only raps in every Odd Future release but
produces songs and creates artwork for the groups
releases. This can be a tough job given that he gets
criticized so often. I personally believe that people
are into his music because of how unusual he is, and
how he comes off to his audience as someone who
doesn't let anything faze him. He is known for using
very explicit lyrics in his lyrics in his songs. So if you
you're looking into buying a CD most record stores
will not sell them to you if you are a minor! It is said
that Tyler began receiving attention primarily from
Media Outlets after releasing the music video for

Earl Sweatshirt is Tyler the Creator's brother
and is also a part of the group OFWGKTA.
Unfortunately Earl was not present when
OFWGKTA started to receive attention in the
year of 2010. Earl's mother sent him to Coral
Reef Academy outside of the Samoan capital
Apia, because he had been getting into a lot of
trouble. It was confirmed that Earl had returned
when he appeared on the song "Oldie" from
"The OF tape Vol. 2". Although it's very
controversial, in an interview with Peter
Rosenburg it was said that Earl could be as good
as Noz was when he was a teenager. Source: http://www.chartattack.com/wpcontent/uploads/2012/08/earlsweatshirt-reveals-info-about-albumtn-311x200.jpg

Summer Lovin'
Beauty Tips
OP-ED
By: Kimberly Phan
!
Every girl wants to look her best and as beautiful
as she can. Do you every catch yourself spending a lot of
money on branded beauty products or several hours in
front of your mirror? Beauty itself comes naturally and
there's enough things you can do to enhance it.
Although summer technically ended August 15, these
beauty tips for body, skin, eye, hair, and lips will
definitely help in the heat and sun before Fall begins on
September 22. I will show you a few of my favorite tips
to help you become a natural beauty using products that
you may already have at home!
1.)
SUNSCREEN IS A MUST
Regardless of whether you rarely get sunburned,
sunscreen is important for anyone who wants to have
healthy, radiant skin. We're all affected by the sun. The
sun's harmful UV rays can penetrate through the clouds
and still cause long term damage to your skin. Start
making it a routine to never leave the house without
using a moisturizer with at least SPF 15.
2.)
EXFOLIATE LIPS, FACE AND SKIN (TWICE A
WEEK)
What is exfoliating? Exfoliating removes dead skin cells
which tend to make your skin look dull. Regular
exfoliating will bring back that glow you want. (Avoid
over exfoliating as it can cause skin irritations like
rashes). There are some essential tools for exfoliation:
-Tooth brush After brushing your teeth, don't forget to brush your
lips. Your lips aren't going to be as chapped. It's also a
good trick to get that pink color back in your lips in the
morning. -Plastic Facial Cleaning Brush (Face Scrub Cleanser)
The facial brush scrub gives your face a much more of a
smoother and healthier glow.
Cleanse your face with luke warm water to open your
pores, apply a non fragrance moisturizer onto damp
face, gentle scrub. After, rinse your face with cold water
so it closes your pores. (Preferably done before going to
bed)
-Shower gloves
GUNDERSON P.R.I.D.E
3.)
FIX OILY HAIR
-Baby powder
Take a pinch of baby powder, rub it against your
hands and massage it into your scalp. The oil will
be absorb by the powder and it won't feel as
greasy as before.
4.)
SMOOTH FEET
-Plastic Grocery bags
-Lotion or Baby oil
People don't care about feet, but it's important
to have nice feet, especially during the summer
time! Massage your feet with the lotion or baby
oil for about 3-5 mins. After that take the plastic
bag, wrap it around your feet and leave it on for
an hour or two. 5.) DRINK YOUR WATER!!!! You've heard it PLENTY of times before and
that's because it's true! It makes a difference in
your skin, hair and overall health. Increase your
water intake and you will see the difference in
two weeks. TIP: When drinking dark color
things, drink it with a straw so it does not stain
your teeth!
6.)
HOMEMADE EYE MAKE UP
REMOVER
-Water
-Spray Bottle
-Gentle Cotton Pads
-Vegetable Glycerin Mix the water and vegetable glycerin
together and pour it into the spray
bottle. Spray the homemade makeup
remover on the cotton pad and gentle
remove your eye make up. It's safe,
inexpensive and saves you money! A
bottle of your homemade make up
remover is equivalent to buying 200
make up removers. By the way, the
Vegetable Glycerin is used in place of
alcohol to extract botanicals. No harsh
chemicals will be in contact with your
skin.
Embracing The Inner You
By: Carley Robinson
!
High school is one of the most important times in a teenager’s life. Naturally human
beings absorb the many influences that surround them and they begin to create a persona that
sometimes isn’t real. We get lost in what society projects to be “perfection” when all that is
perfect is learning to be yourself. Learning to have the flexibility to mature into your own
character and embrace the wonderful qualities that you are blessed with. You get to love
yourself. Too often we consider other’s perspectives and begin to believe their untrue words.
There begins to be an overwhelming contradiction between who you really are, and what you
think people want you to be. High school can definitely be an overwhelming place where there
tends to be a desire to fit in. When in
reality, all you need to do is be
yourself. You will attract those who
appreciate you for owning your
originality. Every bit of you is unique,
different and there is nothing more
beautiful. Whoever you are that is reading
this, you are amazing. No one is better at
being you, than you!

The Things That Make Starbucks
Great
By: Adrian Morales
Walk into any Starbucks and without fail you're greeted and presented with a vast amount of options,
all catered to different preferences. Whether you want something hot, Iced, or blended, there are
plenty of options to make to your drink however you want it. That's the one thing that separates
Starbucks from all the coffee companies; the baristas there will make your drink however you want it.
Anything is customizable ranging from the caffeine content, type of milk, syrup, and any extra
additives that aren't a standard part of the recipe. Although this may seem ideal, customization comes
at a cost, and at Starbucks they will charge you for anything they're allowed to.
Starbucks is a part of pop culture and it's always evolving. To keep up with consumers' wishes, a
variety of campaigns have been led. The most memorable would be the how ever you want it
frapuccino. This approach set the company part from all other coffee chains and shops. It would now
be possible to modify your blended beverage to your exact specifications. Ranging from the type of
milk, caffeine content, and the amount of sugar that would be in your beverage. Commercials aired on
networks aimed at young consumers, who are the prime consumers of blended beverages. As if by
magic the sales of frapuccinos sky rocketed. This increase in
frapuccino consumption lead to the brith of a new
campaign, frapuccino happy hour. During a couple of days,
customers could come in and buy two blended beverages for
the price of one. Throughout the years Starbucks has
become a company that has reinvented itself into pop
culture time and time again. Their brand is trademark which
we all go in and have a taste of once in a while, some more
frequent than others. But nevertheless if you have a strong
dependence on their gourmet coffee drinks, the previous
tips should help you save some money.

The Benefits of Working at Vans
By: Adrian Morales
!
The benefits of working at a retail store are endless. From great discounts on merchandise, to
medical benefits, and flexible working hours. Take Vans for example. This company is a well known shoe brand
around the world. Founded in 1966 California, Vans offers many different types of shoes, clothing, and
accessories for buyers who enjoy this unique type of style.
!
The discount on shoes are excellent ranging from 30% on sale shoes to 50% on full price shoes. This
gives the employee an advantage when it comes to buying shoes and saving money. Immediate family members
also enjoy the benefit of the discount given. Not only do you receive discount on shoes, but clothing and
accessories as well. Another great benefit is that the discount you receive can be used at any Vans store within
the United States. Employees also get a limited number of discount coupons to hand out to friends that can be
used for discount of up to 40% on their sales. Who wouldn't like that good deal?
!
Health benefits are very difficult and ridiculously expensive now days. However, Vans offers
employees a comprehensive and competitive medical,
dental and vision package. This saves you money on
your next trip to the doctor. Another benefit is the
employee assistance program. This is a confidential
service for employees and their family members. This
program provides free, counseling and resources for
personal and relationship issues, legal issues, financial
issues, parenting and family counseling. Keep these
things in mind when job-hunting this fall. The perks of
a job go far beyond your paycheck.

The AP
Experience
By: Karla B. Villa Rodriguez
Junior Class of 2014, congratulations
on your newly acquired title as
upperclassmen. And extra congrats to
those of you who are participating in the
AP program here on campus. As a
senior, who took the on the challenges of
the AP program as a junior, I know it was
very difficult to push yourselves into
something that just sounds intimidating.
I mean, to choose to take part in a
college level course, some of you since
sophomore year, is truly something to
take pride in.
I’m sure most of the seniors that
were in your place merely on year ago
would guarantee to you that the AP
courses they took part in were some of
the best. The environment is just
completely different than in a
mainstream class. The classroom is filled
for the most part by students that want to
be there, students that want to challenge,
and push themselves above and beyond
their limits, academically. Not to
mention that the teachers are simply
amazing. I’m sure all you new
upperclassmen will love the courses, and
the feeling of finally closing that AP
exam in May is just immense.
The classes themselves simply take
a lot of dedication, and time. The last
thing you wan in an AP class is to fall
behind, believe me; I’ve been in that
position. So long as you stay on top of
everything, don’t fall behind, study in
your spare time every now and then, the
stress in the class will become minimal.
You’d be surprised how critical it is to
stay organized as well.
Best of luck to all of you participating
in the AP program here on campus,
sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
Welcome back grizzlies, Lets make the
best of this 202-2013 school year.
Specially class of 2013, this being our

Eleven Days Without Our
Favorite Shows!
By: Nicole Athens
!
For those of you who don’t have DirecTV, you got lucky. Sometime
on Tuesday, July 10th, DirecTV stopped carrying many channels owned by
Viacom Inc due to a contract dispute. Some of these channels included, MTV,
Nickelodeon, VH1, and Comedy Central. DirecTV stated that Viacom was
asking for a 30% increase in rates. Viacom then states that it’s latest
agreement was made seven years ago and that DirecTV is now paying less than
its competitors. Both of the
companies didn’t want to take
responsibility so they blamed
each other. Many of the
DirecTV customers switched
over to other companies that
did have the channels. I don’t
know about all of you but for
me, that was definitely a long
Summer Fun Without the Sun
By: Isabelle Simmons
!
Why go outside when you can stay indoors for the summer? Let's face it,
going outside isn't that much fun anymore. Here are some tips to make your indoor
summer the best summer you have ever had!
1) Window Tanning -While your friends are outside getting tan at the beach, you're
at home staying the same skin color. If you don't want anybody to think you don't
have a life, open your window and use the sun's rays to tan yourself while you go on
the internet. If you do not have a window, then the light on your computer is
acceptable as well. You'll look tanner and you just got 13 likes on the status you just
posted. Talk about multi-tasking! (Works best in daylight because we can't tan
using the moon.)
2) Scented Air Fresheners - Who needs to go out when you can just go to your
bathroom and get your air freshener? Imagine your in a field of flowers and you end
up being chased by hundreds of bees. But you're allergic to bees! Isn't that
unfortunate? Why go through all that trouble when you can stay inside and spray
some Hawaiian breeze air freshener? Just close your eyes, play some relaxing
sounds of ocean waves, and it's like your already there! Better than just a field of
flowers! Don't forget to open your window to make it more realistic.
3) Indoor swimming - Why pay for an expensive ticket to go to a water park when
you can swim in your bathtub for FREE? Just think about it, many sweaty and hot
people go to water parks to jump in a refreshing pool of cool water. You're basically
swimming in other people's sweat. Have you ever peed in a pool? If no, then you're
a big fat liar. Let's face it, we're in a big cool pool and we have to use the bathroom.
Why go out and walk all the way to the restroom when you can do it in a pool?
Doesn't swimming in your bathtub sound more hygienic and fun? If not satisfied,
make it a bubble bath! Isn't that groovy?
4) Indoor camping - What's summer without a camping adventure? When you are
outdoor camping, you don't have a shower, a sanitary toilet, or Internet access.
You also need to buy a tent, bug spray, sleeping bags, etc. Why spend money
when you can use your imagination and the stuff you already have at home? You
can use your pillows, chairs, and blankets that your parents bought to make
yourself your very own indoor tent. You can even take a picture of your tent and
show all your friends online so they would like to join your delightful homemade
tent. Everybody goes outdoor camping! Why be like everybody else? This way,
you don't have to watch out for bears. Just watch out for annoying siblings
planning on destroying your tent that you've put so much effort in making!

What Technology Does To
Kids Today By: Cindy Zuniga
!
In my opinion technology is making kids today less active. Kids
should be outside running around and being active. Now a days kids lay
on the couch all day and play with IPods, IPads, etc . I mean yes its fun
to have advanced technology but it's not necessary to use it every single
minute of your life. Parents should be motivating their children to eat
right and get their exercise for the day. (Tumblr and FaceBook)
Our technology is going to be growing more and more each day, but
that doesn't mean kids have to be stuck home all day on their
computers wanting to know what the "next best thing" is going to be. !
For example, Facebook has kids, teens and adults stuck in this
gossip world. Adults need to step in and tell their child to cut out on the
social gossip. Facebook is a great way of communicating with family
and friends that don't live near and also a great way to talk to friends
when their is no other way to speak to them outside of school, but other
than that Facebook looks like it's run by teens and drama!
!
Facebook isn't the only social or popular site that keep
children from being active, there are many others you just have to know
when to log off , get up, get out and be active.
Haters Gonna Hate
By: Millionaire Tuilefano
!
What’s a hater? No not what you get when your bf/gf leaves a little
mark on your neck after a make out session behind the gym! I'm talking
about your #1 fans!! The ones who enjoy creeping up on your every move.
Making sure they can do all that's possible to bring you down any chance
they can get there hands on. Someone that hates you for no apparent
reason. Someone who constantly puts out negative vibes about you. Yes
that's most definitely a hater! How to handle such creators in high school
without all the drama and extra saucy stuff. Follow these simple steps and
you'll learn that haters gonna HATE but they'll never be PHASED.
1. Don't always believe what you hear that goes around. Kids in high
school talk that talk but most of the time they can never walk that
walk! Therefore worry about whats going on with yourself don't
step out of your lane to give some hater the satisfaction of seeing
you frustrated. Its a waste of energy and time that can be used
towards something more important and relevant.
2. If you see them, simply SMILE and wave directly in there
direction. Let them know they got nothing on you! They isn’t
sweating no one. Always make sure you have confidence never
back down. Stand up for yourself
and show them that they aren't a
threat to anyone. There words are
nothing, but most importantly if
there thoughts aren't a positive
impact then it's obvious they are a
NON-Mother bleeping-FACTOR.
3. Always stay calm and alert. Never let
any of them catch you "slipping".
As in stay 2 steps ahead of them
each time.
4. Just do YOU. Keep to yourself,
don't start drama just stay away
from them.

2012 NBA Offseason
By: Jose Silva
The NBA offseason for the summer of 2012 wasn’t full of superstar signings or big name trades, but
many teams did make moves to improve their squads and make them NBA Championship contenders.
The Boston Celtics that are to many considered “old” made such moves to remain top contenders in
the Eastern Conference. Resigning Kevin Garnett was a major factor for the Celtics since he provides
that mental toughness in and out of the court, as well as the leadership that’s required by any veteran.
The Celtics also signed former 6th man of the year, Jason Terry. This move was forced to happen since
the Celtics were not able to secure a deal with shooting guard Ray Allen. However, unlike Ray Allen,
Jason Terry is able to create his own shot, which the Celtics could surely benefit from.
!

The Brooklyn Nets seemed to be the busiest team on the market this summer. They went out
to trade for six-time NBA All Star Joe Johnson fearing that their point-guard Deron Williams would
leave them for another team if they did not add some sort of potential to the squad. And speaking of
Williams, he did end up staying in Brooklyn.
The Nets also resigned power-forward Kris Humphries and center Brook Lopez.
!
The Los Angeles Lakers, also considered to be “old”, didn’t get any younger by trading for
thirty-eight year old Steve Nash. Although Nash is near the end of his career, he was a tremendous
upgrade for the Lakers at the point-guard position. The Lakers haven’t had a point-guard average
more than 8.5 assists per game (APG) since Kobe Bryant’s rookie season. Steve Nash, the two-time

MVP, happened to dish the ball nearly 11 times per game last season with the Phoenix Suns, surely
making this a great acquisition for L.A. The Lakers also signed former All Star and Veteran Antawn
Jamison.
Jamison is a good caliber power-forward who will strengthen the Laker bench.
!
The Miami Heat being the current NBA Champions are most certainly the favorites to repeat
their success this upcoming season. The Heat added Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis to their already
star-studded lineup. Both Allen and Lewis agreed to sign for a less amount of money but both players
knew that this Heat team has the best chance of winning the title.

Gunderson Girl’s Basketball: Summer League Overview
By: Karla B. Villa Rodriguez
!
This summer, our Girl’s Basketball program, lead by Coach John Drake, had yet another successful work out. Participating in two basketball
camps and a summer league our Lady Grizz has been putting in work this summer. Led by Irene Chavez, the grizzlies ended their summer with a record of
5-2-1. Some games rougher than other, our team made it through every one of them.
One of the more memorable games of the league would have to be the (Saratoga?) game, by the end of the 4th quarter, the game was tied, and the
teams were preparing to go into a two minute overtime. Down by 3, with only seconds left on the clock, rookie and now sophomore, Demitra Kouretas
makes a 3 point shot from the left wing, with Lira Ndifon’s assist, tying the game. Through it all, it wasn’t a surprise that, with this being her 4th year on the
varsity team, Irene Chavez definitely put in work alongside her teammates, Kelly Rogos, Karla Villa, Lain Chhen, Jeilah Evaristo, Demi Kouretas, Ayaan
Ferghzi, Mia Medina, Lira Ndifon, and Syndey Reed.
Last year, the team had a very successful season, with a record of 13-1, taking first place in the B division. Moving up to the A division this year
will definitely be an experience. We look forward to the season with anticipation, and it’ll definitely be a senior year to remember.

There will be many surprising transfers in the 2012-2013 Transfer Window. One team that
really dropped the bomb was Paris Saint German (PSG), this team bought Ac Milan stars Zlatan
Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva for €65m euros. The deal was sealed in June. Their transfer to
PSG was confirmed by Berlusconi AC Milan owner, then reported for the first time by french
newspaper "L'Equipe". Berlusconi said that over a period of two years they will have
saved €150 million.
Real Madrid is having some trouble in their transfers this year. Tottenham Hotspur star, Luka
Modric is fighting his way out of the team to join the Spanish Giants Real Madrid. Even though
Madrid has offered Modric €25m, Tottenham doesn't want to let him go. Chairman Levy made
it clear that the only way they will let Modric go is if Madrid bids close to £40m. There has been
speculations of Real Madrid selling a couple of players to gain money to purchase Modric. For
now, Modric has been fined €80m for failing to show up to Tottenham's train and tour of the
U.S.
Chelsea FC and Manchester United have really
equipped themselves this summer. Chelsea has
purchased Eden Hazard from French club Lille
for £32m. At the moment Chelsea is very pleased
with his work during their 2012-2013 pre-season
games. Manchester United purchased Shinji Kagawa from
German club Borussia Dortmund for £12m. He still
needs to make a big impression on the club, but
people believe he has a big future in Manchester
United.

Catastrophe in Colorado
By: David Awolowo
On July 19, 2012, the night of the premiere of the film, “The Dark Knight Rises”, an unfortunate shooting occurred in Aurora, Century
Colorado 16 theater. The suspect, James Holmes, opened fire at a full theater killing 12 and wounding 76 innocent people. The motives of the shooter are
unknown at the moment, but friends and family of Holmes say that he recently dropped out of medical school and is pursuing a PHD at Colorado University.
Holmes was wearing a gas mask over his face and a SWAT uniform when he committed the shooting. A disturbing fact about Holmes was that night, he
planned on killing more people after officers found he had over 6,000 ammunition rounds in his car which Holmes purchased online. Although Holmes
murdered 12 and nearly wounded 80 people, he intended to cause as much harm as possible after sources found that Holmes booby-trapped his apartment
(Winter, 2012). The Bomb Technicians used robots to trigger controlled detonations intended to clear the hazards while still maintaining any possible
evidence.
Bomb Technicians manage their way through a series of deadly traps as authorities move cautiously through Holmes apartment they discovered untriggered
artillery shells and incendiary devices. Holmes first appearance in court was five days after the shooting where he appeared with red-orange clown hair
wearing a prison jumpsuit and strange behaviors. Sources have learned that Colorado psychiatrist Dr. Lynne Fenton treated shooting suspect, James
Holmes, was concerned about his behavior weeks before the actual incident. Dr. Lynne Fenton contacted a local police officer, but it’s unknown what the
officer did with the information. Fenton also contacted the University of Colorado’s opinion this tragic shooting could have been prevented. Hopefully we
will all learn fr
assessment team with her concerns. Based on the information revealed, in my own om this incident, and be well prepared to prevent a massacre of these
proportions. Three days after the shooting our president Barack Obama visited the families of the victims, simply to support them and let the families know
that their deceased will be loved, missed, and never forgotten by our nation.
("James Holmes, suspected," 2012)
Though this has been the first U.S massacre in the year 2012, this tragedy affects continues to be relevant. Who knows what the lasting impact will be?
Americas may see changes in movie theater security. New security measures may be so strict that some customers would be uncomfortable going to the
movies. In cities like San Jose, which is populated with 967,487 people, police officers cover larger areas and it might not be able to respond to incidents as
quickly as they could in smaller cities and towns. As we proceed to the next year, keep this fresh in your mind Grizzlies, life is too unexpected and too short
so keep caution.
