LIFELINES
“Let us treat others with the same passion and compassion with
which we want to be treated. If we want life, let us give life … The
Golden Rule also reminds us of our responsibility to protect and
defend human life at every stage of its development.” –Pope
Francis, Visit to the Joint Session of the United States Congress
(9/24/15) © 2015 Libreria Editrice Vaticana. Used with permission.
QUESTION of the WEEK – Love and Betrayal
Here is our next Question of the Week! Take it home and discuss it
with your family during the week.
Key Passage: The Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter
remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, ”Before
the cock crows today, you will deny me three times.” (Luke 22:61)
Adult Question: When have you felt that you betrayed the
confidence of another, as Peter did when he denied Jesus?
Child Question: When have you let someone down who trusted
you? How did you feel?

IN HIS FOOTSTEPS - FEAST OF ST. JOSEPH
SPOUSE OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY - MARCH 19th
This year as we walk in the footsteps of our six North
Scranton patron saints, we would like to connect their
good actions, inspiration and faith with the Year of
Mercy declared by Pope Francis.
The Year of Mercy encourages
all of us to practice the spiritual
and corporal works of mercy in
our daily lives. Each month that
we remember one of our N.
Scranton saints, we’ll suggest
some ways that we could walk
in the footsteps of mercy in
honor of them.
St. Joseph is the “just man” of the New Testament, the
lowly village carpenter of Nazareth, who was sent by
God to be the husband and protector of Mary and
Jesus. In honor of St. Joseph:

candle which is “buried”, signifying the burial of Christ.
Please attend this very moving prayer service -- a great
way to begin Holy Week!

OPERATION RICE BOWL COLLECTION – HOLY THURSDAY
We follow Jesus this week on our Lenten
journey as he enters Jerusalem, a
community he knew well. CRS Rice Bowl
asks us to prayerfully enter into our own
communities to find those who are hungry and thirsty, those who
need our help. Our Lenten journey motivates us to serve those we
encounter in our daily lives. Today’s collection is for the intention of
the Rice Bowl.
