TABERNACLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH September 16, 2016 “GET OFF YOUR DONKEY” Jesus was once asked the question everyone wants answered: “What must I do to inherit eternal life?” His answer began a conversation that radically shifted faith from a noun to a verb. Today begins a sermon series we’re (tongue-in-cheek) calling: GET OFF YOUR DONKEY, where we’ll look at what it means to be a neighbor and God’s call to follow the Good Samaritan’s example of compassion. Guatemala Stove and Water Purifier Challenge Putting our Love and Compassion into action the Parables Class has decided to adopt two families for $300 per family. This includes the stove, concrete pad, whitewash on the walls around the cooking area, and a water purifier. We are challenging all TUMC ministries and groups to match or exceed our commitment. Donations can be made on, or before, September 18th. Make your check or donation out to Tabernacle UMC and put Guatemala Stove-Water Project in the memo. The Challenge is on!! The Parables Class Co-leaders: Dan Cockman and Brad Ehrhardt VISITOR’S COFFEE & DESSERT WITH OUR PASTORS Monday, September 19th, 7:00 pm — 7:45 pm If you are a guest or you’ve been visiting Tabernacle for some time, we invite you to join us for a time of fellowship and information with our pastors. This will be a time to learn more about our church and answer questions you might have about Tabernacle UMC and our ministries. If you are ready to join our church family, we’ll also schedule a date for you to become a member of Tabernacle. September Adult Fellowship Trip!
