Musicians - Blaskapelle Gemmingen
Prologue Special tribute and thanks to the hosts and the audiences of the Blaskapelle Gemmingen Almost 40 musicians from the Blaskapelle Gemmingen, a traditional wind band from the South of Germany, will be touring the Great Lakes area from August 14, to September 2, 2014. The musicians are very much looking forward not only to playing at concerts, but also to becoming acquainted with the culture and country of the United States. Through the international language of music they are hoping to touch the hearts of the American Timo Wolf Mayor of Gemmingen 2 audiences and to promote understanding. Undoubtedly it will be an eventful tour with abundant interesting and amicable encounters. This document is dedicated with heart-felt thanks to all our friends who have made it possible for the Blaskapelle to do a group tour, to the host families and audiences for the warm hospitality shown to the musicians on their US tour. Gemmingen itself was founded in 769. Its history is closely tied with the history of the Barons of Gemmingen and their castles in both Gemmingen and Stebbach. In 1925, Stebbach was incorporated into Gemmingen as well as the township Streichenberg. In 2011, the Gemmingen wind orchestra celebrated its 50-year anniversary with a party that lasted for several days. In the early years, between 1961 and 1969, the local 16-26 member church band developed into the Blaskapelle Gemmingen, which plays an established role in the cultural life of the city today. 4 The Blaskapelle Gemmingen’s musical repertoire includes everything from symphonic brass, easy listening, Bohemian-Moravian music, “Guggemusigg” (best described as a cross between big band and noise machine) to Swing-Rock-Pop and Big Band dance music. In 1969, the wind orchestra was an instrumental part of the Gemmingen community’s 1200 year anniversary. The event marks the founding of the official band association under the name Blaskapelle Gemmingen. In the following years, the Blaskapelle Gemmingen distinguished itself under the conductors Otto Kotsch senior, Otto Kotsch junior, Friedrich Hofner und Werner Werosta through its participation in several wind orchestra competitions at the district and national levels, in which the band received several prizes and awards, as well as through appearances on television and radio. Today, the Blaskapelle Gemmingen is made up of several ensembles of diverse styles, such as its wind orchestra and youth orchestra, its Schlosspark Musikanten, as well as its “Guggemusigg” and big band. 5 Program Concert Band Chicago Festival Rapunzel Applaus, Applaus New York, New York A Western Suite Modell “T” Boomwhackers on stage Unsere kleine Farm Sweet home Chicago Alte Kameraden Swing A child`s lullaby Rosamunde Deutschmeister Regimentsmarsch Downtown 99 Luftballons Sweet Caroline 6 Go West Killing me softly Latin Gold Beach Boys The best of Beatles Udo Jürgens Dieter Thomas Kuhn Saragossa Band Fürstenfeld 1001 Nacht Hands up Rock it Gentlemen of music Italo Pop Classics The best of Billy Vaughn Die großen Saxophon Hits 7 Program Schlosspark Mu s ikanten 8 Ohne Heimat ist die Welt nicht schön Auf ihr Brieder in die Palz Die Fischerin vom Bodensee Schunkelparade In Junkers Kneipe Rote Lippen Hello Mary Lou Im Wagen vor mir Stimmungsparty Ich will nen Cowboy als Mann Er gehört zu mir Über der Wolken Stell dich ein in Oberkrain Schlag auf Schlag Jetzt haun wir auf die Pauke HAL-LE-LU-JA Griechischer Wein Logo logo Schürzenjägerzeit Großer Manitou Dieter Thomas Kuhn Hey Baby I sing a Liad für di Ein Stern, der deinen Namen trägt Das rote Pferd Fliegerlied Schatzi schenk mir ein Foto Rock mi Musik-Musik Sakvicka Polka Mondschein an der Eger Pfeffer und Salz Sommernacht in Prag Sterne der Heimat Aha Polka Mein schönes Egerland Die Kapelle hat gewonnen Der Schornsteinfeger aus Eger Gartenpolka Im Rosengarten Egerländer Liedermarsch Blumenmädchen Alte Liebe, junge Herzen Optimisten Polka Ein junger Jäger Egerland Heimatland Vajnorska Polka Paradnice Liebling, ich hab dich tanzen sehn Laubener Schnellpolka Rosamunde Andulka Marsch Gablonzer Perlen Kannst du Knödel kochen Egerländer Liedermarsch Dort tief im Böhmerwald Südböhmische Polka Heute ist ein großes Fest Kleine Anuschka Textilaku Slavonicka Polka Mariechen Walzer Aus Böhmen kommt die Musik Vom Egerland zum Moldaustrand Rauschende Birken Fuchsgraben Polka Mit Herz und Schwung Böhmischer Wind Dompfaff Blasmusikvergnügen Du gabst im Mai mir rote Rosen Chodunska Polka Alte Kameraden Auf der Vogelwiese Wir sind Kinder von der Eger 9 Musicians Euphonium Technical Director Marcel Krepp Musical Director Jürgen Siedl Laura Scherer Thomas Wahl Raffaele Guagliano Jürgen Siedl Norbert Müller Raffaele Guagliano Jürgen Siedl Jakob Zürn Frank Deschner Trombone Susanne Müller Andreas Wild Markus Beichl Raffaele Guagliano Norbert Müller Milena Ehret Melanie Fleps Selena Kaufmann Maira Rieker Lena Rößler Tina Weilbacher Julia Roth Milena Deschner Larissa Siedl Marie-Luise Lederer Thomas Kible Vocals Clarinet Thomas Kible Julia Werthmüller Marcel Krepp Tenor Saxophone 10 Larissa Siedl Marie-Luise Lederer Sonja Werthmüller Meike Reber Selina Geiger Charlotte Ochs Alto Saxophone Sophie Wink Barbara Oßwald Lara Wasielewski Lisa-Maria Gross Flute Roman Müller Markus Beichl Drums Adrian Geiger Laura Werthmüller Pia Eggensperger Daniel Heffter Manuel Wolf Hans Lederer Otmar Pitz Andreas Wild Trumpet Hans Lederer Otmar Pitz Daniel Heffter Flugelhorn Norbert Müller Markus Beichl Tuba 11
