Trophy Feeding Guide

Introducing a new food is very easy but it is a gradual process. Feeding the
Trophy way will ensure the Trophy satisfaction guarantee.
Introduce the new diet gradually over a 5 day period. Please remember that
all pets are individuals and their feeding requirements will vary with age
and lifestyle. The feeding guides are intended as a starting point and can
be adjusted to suit your dog. Trophy Super Premium Dog Foods should be
fed dry, although your dog may like the food slightly dampened. Adjust the
amount fed to keep your dog in a lean, active condition.
✓ Ethical Accreditation
Trophy Pet Food is against laboratory based animal testing and is accredited
by the Ethical Company. The food is proudly made in the U.K., supporting
British Agriculture.
• Gradually introduce your new Trophy food over a five day period. Mix
with the current food, increasing the Trophy food by 20% each day, until
the changeover is complete. With the sensitive dog gradually introduce
over 10 days.
• Feed twice a day to improve digestion and stabilise blood sugar
levels. In some cases this can also help reduce hyperactivity and
nervousness.
• Always feed the correct amount, don’t be tempted to over feed,
as complete food will look less. There is a feeding guide on each bag.
Intake amounts will vary depending on weight, size, age, and activity
levels and well being. Feeding guides are intended as a starting
point and can be adjusted. It is vital not to overfeed.
• Live natural yoghurt may be added to improve intestinal bacteria or
clear up minor stomach upsets.
• Monitor your dog’s motions; if they become loose then your dog
could be eating more than it needs. Please note, however, that
for a short time the motions may change from their normal ‘look’ as
your dog gets used to their new food. In feeding Trophy the motions
should become firmer and easier to clean up. This should lead to
fewer motions, however with some dogs frequent ‘toileting’ is a
normal sign.
• Fussy/sensitive dogs often eat grass which may suggest indigestion
/ heart burn. Feeding from a raised bowl and/or moistening the food
will help.
The figures shown are the daily requirements in grams. All dogs should be
fed twice per day, in equal amounts. The taste, smell and goodness in the
Trophy Super Premium Dog Foods may encourage your dog to over feed
and therefore the feeding guides must be followed.
It is important to feed the correct amount. Ask your Trophy Nutritional
Advisor for a FREE measuring cup, marked with the feeding rate for your dog.
As our foods are made from natural ingredients the density of the product
can vary from batch to batch. It is therefore recommended that you check
the amount fed with each new bag. Remember a complete diet looks less as
it is concentrated; do not be tempted to overfeed!
The exact feeding amount for your dog will depend on many factors
including age, breed, weight, sex, activity level, temperament and overall
health.

• Make sure clean, fresh water is always available. Dogs do drink more
water when fed a complete food, as the food contains little moisture.
