Tom Corbett’s JobGateway: Paranormal Investigators, Reality TV Bloggers, and Adult Novelty Stores Governor Corbett has recently spent a lot of time touting his jobs website, JobGateway, stating in a debate that, “There are thousands of jobs all across Pennsylvania that need to be filled, literally 250,000 jobs” [Pittsburgh Post-­Gazette, 10/2/14] Corbett’s campaign has described JobGateway as full of “hundreds of thousands of good, family-­sustaining jobs.” Some examples of the “good, family-­sustaining jobs” the Corbett administration so proudly touts include: a gig as a paranormal investigator, an unpaid position blogging about reality television, a post seeking a teenager to help with yard work for one day, and a job as a counter girl for an adult novelty store.
