Expansive glazing forms two walls
of the kitchen, bringing the outdoors
in. Perfectly equipped, the kitchen
doubles as a functional work area
and a leisurely communication
centre for family and close friends.
The attractive rooms inside correspond
with those outside. A covered patio
imparts a lounging atmosphere – the
perfect spot to relax and chat on a sultry
evening or a rainy summer's day.

To the right of the dining room: the
private workplace of the lady of the
house.
Daylight streams deep into the
house through the floor-to-ceiling
windows and roof glazing. In the
interior, warm wood teams up with
cool materials such as glass, light
grey stone floor tiles and sparse
metal accents.
The gas fireplace, wonderfully puristic
in design, shields off the lounge from
the dining area behind it.

The living room radiates a feeling of
sheltered warmth, while delivering
unimpeded views. The large sliding
glass doors open up onto the surrounding balcony, extending the
room into nature outside.

From the ridge of its butterfly roof to
the ground floor with the shimmering
aquamarine light effects from the
indoor pool, a sublime play of light
– diffuse, variable or focused – sets
the stage for this HUF home when
twilight falls. Our lighting designers
drafted the master plan at the time
the house was designed.

An indoor swimming pool is the heart
of the private spa that also includes a
sauna and outside whirlpool. Mirroring
HUF architecture in its linearity, a
refreshing ambience emanates from
this year-round pool with its interplay
of water and light.

The square-shaped stone steps
seemingly hover, as they make their
way along the rockery down to the
outdoor pool.
Austere in design, the outdoor space in
front of the spa oasis has an Asiatic
flair. The loggia to the left of the indoor
pool accommodates a wood-encased
whirlpool.

The entire upper floor is the owners’
private sphere. Transparency and
the architectural lines lend dynamism
to the bedrooms and bathrooms. The
balconies open up a further spatial
dimension towards the outside. From
these lofty heights, there are great
views into treetops and the park-like
landscape throughout the seasons of
the year.

The spaciousness of this home comes
into its own on the garden side. The
HUF HAUS basement forming the
lower level was built to create a “bel
etage” – ideal room for the indoor
pool and other fitness installations.

On the gallery of the owners’ “private
floor”: a library and reading room. The
dual bookcase with sliding elements
in front was made to specification by
StilART. It provides abundant storage
for books and illustrated volumes, yet
takes up only little space.
The dressing room is accessed directly
from the master bedroom and the
bathroom. Wardrobes and chests of
drawers by StilART are cleverly outfitted to easily maintain order.

The house and the prize-winning
garden design complement each
other, making a highly expressive
statement. Strictly axial elements,
such as the koi pond, enter into an
intriguing dialogue with the variety
of shapes and structures in the
natural surroundings.
