It is an excellent video for the younger age group and has moppets and talking and singing adults and children. How To Say Your Sorry shows various ways you can hurt people and how to admit when you are wrong and how to say that you are sorry, especially God’s way. 9 The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe K thru 4 95 Minutes This video is from the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. It is an adventure filled tale of two brothers and two sisters who cross through an enchanted wardrobe closet into the magical world of Narnia, a land of talking animals and mystical creatures. This video is produced by The Children’s Television Workshop. Can be broken into two or three classes in a row. 10 The Big Lie McGee and Me Series 3 and up 30 Minutes Nicholas and McGee discover that telling lies is not a good way to make friends. These commandments are not a list of limitations on fun. They are guidelines that, if adhered to, will help young adults better cope with such problems as self-esteem, alcohol and drugs, human sexuality, and relationships with their parents, their peers, and God. The Ten Commandments are not just suggestions on how to live a better life, they are what God expects of us. The story segment tells of Father Richard Roos, S.J., who in Lent 1979, traveled on foot to each of the Franciscan missions in California. Father Roos specifically relates his pilgrimage to the Way of the cross and tells of its powerful conclusion in a moment of personal conversion. The witness segment features a T.V. – news-style report of the “Way of the cross, Way of Justice,” held on Good Friday in a metropolitan setting. You learn to appreciate gifts and encourage growth and self acceptance. 81 Through Grandpa’s Eyes K thru 6 20 Minutes A story of awareness and love, about a warm relationship between a boy and his blind grandfather. 82 Boys Town 5 and up 94 Minutes Fr. Flanagan battles the courts, the community and mostly the odds to create a home for a group of orphaned boys. A group of boys that society has tossed away. Boys Town is an inspirational film for all ages. Spencer Tracy won an Academy Award for this performance as Fr. Flanagan. Can be viewed over two weeks. 83 Amiee 6 and up 17 Minutes This is a video about a photo journalist who gets involved with the poor in the inner city, and helps their plight make headlines. Mr. Kikugawa hires young Timothy to help out around the shop. Then comes the bombing of Pearl Harbor and Mr. Kikugawa is looked upon with suspicion by his neighbors and the FBI. Tim gets caught up in all of this and is partly convinced and partly coerced into the betrayal of his innocent friend. Soon after this, Mr. Kikugawa is notified that he is to be relocated to an internment camp. Before he leaves however, he and Timothy are reconciled.
