Hello Ayr Families,
Happy New Year! I hope 2013 brings you all warm memories, good health and the
opportunity to enjoy the moments.
It is hard to believe we are just about at the mid-point in the school year! During the last week
of school before the break many of our families enjoyed our Christmas Concert. Thank you
for supporting the students in their presentations. It is always very exciting when parents,
grandparents and family and friends can join us for school activities.
As we enter the winter term I would like to remind parents/guardians that your child’s success
at school is important to the staff here at Ayr P.S. If at any time you have a concern about
your child’s progress, please do not hesitate to contact his/her classroom teacher.
Thank you for your generosity! The 5 Days of Giving saw the office stuffed with many boxes of
needed items from our Ayr families. Warm clothes, hats/mittens, food, baby items, and
Canadian Tire Money was generously donated. We wish to thank everyone who supported this
worthy cause with their generosity for others.
Inclement Weather : Now that winter has arrived please remember to tune into the following
radio stations for announcements on school closures; NEWS AM 579, CHYM FM 96.7, KICX
FM 106.7, Kfunn FM 99.5, KOOL FM 105.3, DAVE FM 107.5, CJOY AM 1460, magic FM
106.1, CKWR FM 98.5, CKBT Magic FM 106.1, CKWR FM 98.5, CKBT the BEAT FM 91.5
and FAITH FM 94.3. The announcement will also be made on CTV channel 12 and the school
board’s website, www.wrdsb.ca.
Kindergarten Registration is on February 7, 2013. Please send your neighbours with children
born in 2008 and 2009. Early registration allows us to prepare for class set up and may ensure
we can keep 3 sections of Kindergarten.
Just as a reminder, if your child(ren) are sick or have the flu please keep them at home and
call the school. During the cold and flu season your child’s teacher would appreciate a
donation of Kleenex to help with the sniffles. Thank you.

Parking at Ayr Public School
For the safety of the children at Ayr Public School, please ensure you do not leave
your car unattended , unlocked and running in the parking lot.. This presents a
dangerous situation and it is our priority to keep the children safe. Thank you for
respecting this request.
