Border Yarn Transition Tips
Steps 1 through 11
Here’s a look at the Back (Wrong Side) return from left
pink border to continue white center panel. Take the
WHITE yarn and cross under the Pink yarn.
3
There are many ways to introduce yarn color changes,
but the way outlined here will enable you to knit the
entire blanket as one, connected piece. This method
also ensures tight transitions and clean lines!
At the end of Row 13’s Right pink border (8 count), we
need to introduce the WHITE yarn to start building the
center panel.
1
Cross WHITE yarn over Pink yarn to the LEFT and pull
Pink yarn to the right as shown.
4
Continuing across Row 13, we again stop
at stitch 66 to introduce a second PINK
yarn skein. YES, this is Key… don’t pickup
your Pink yarn from the right, but bring in
a SECOND PINK YARN skein! You will work back and
forth across this blanket with three (3) yarns attached.
nd
At end of Row 116, CUT & bind off 2 Pink yarn.
Hold WHITE yarn firmly with LEFT hand while holding
Pink yarn firmly with RIGHT hand, and stitch in WHITE
for center. Each transition will look similar to this.
