WHERE WE WENT AND WHAT WE DID - more or less ...
HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR ANNUAL AUCTION - WOW…OVER 400 BUCKS !!! –
Our regular auctioneer SOUPY, with RICH HOLT'S assistance, called the bids all night long – our able runners,
CHARLIE SHERMAN and EMERY GAUDET, doing the leg work, the bidders were worked into a frenzy as they,
time and time again, bid ‘big bucks’ for our club members’ donated treasures. MANY THANKS to all the guys and the
ladies who kept the bidding lively, when there seemed to be a lull in the bidding SOUPY could add another item to keep the night interesting...!!!
Some of the great treasures that changed hands included a pretty nifty air
compressor, lotsa books, a pile of old car advertisements that one of our newer
members snagged, hub caps and more hubcaps, scale model old cars that once
were whiskey bottles – or maybe – perfume…(???), stacks of Muscle Car and Hot
Rod books; more books, bunches of other ‘good stuff’ and assorted junque that
nobody wanted - SOUPY sold it anyway and of course, the obligatory 1/18
scale model cars, always sell like hot-cakes–even the Lexus – a Lexus …!!! ???
The club’s two Accountants GEORGE LaCROIX & JOHN RICHINICK – sold the official Bidders Number Paddles
and tracked the members’ purchases and then tallied up the sales at the end of the night. When all was said and done,
SOUPY thanked the members for buying everything that came across the gavel. A
quick tally showed $400 total for the night … !!!
MANY THANKS to the buying and donating club members, the Auctioneers and
the crew, SOUPY, RICH, CHARLIE, EMERY, GEORGE and JOHN for
making this Annual Auction another success – a short & sweet hour and a half of
‘fun’ adjourned just before 9 PM.
SUN APRIL 17 - EARLY FORD V-8 CLUB, Fitchburg Airport – JOYCE &
DAVE HORTON were there and JOYCE sez: With any car show event in April
you hope for good weather, but today was perfect for the Early Ford V-8 Club's 46th
Annual Swap Meet & Car Show at the Fitchburg Airport in Fitchburg MA. Blue sky,
slight breeze and temp in the low 70's. What more could you ask? Now add in a
swap meet with what looked to be 100 vendors and a few hundred vintage cars and
trucks...now you have a perfect day.
And lets add in that some of the MSAAC members were attending the show;
always good to see their smiling faces and share in good conversations! This
show always has plenty of families and I always enjoy hearing the dads & moms
taking about cars with their children...teaching the next generation to appreciate
vintage cars.
Editor Tom sez: Thanks, Joyce...!!!

SAT. APR 16 – TOUR of RB Racing
Museum,300 Lunenburg St. Fitchbrg,MA
JEANNITA GAUDET, our club tour
organizer reported: We enjoyed Ron
Bouchard’s Racing Museum very much
and the Bouchard family was very welcoming.
The group picture includes Paula Bouchard,
front row center (Ron's wife).
To show the Mid-StateAAC members’
appreciation to the Bouchard Family for
the tour of their museum, MSAAC
clubbers collected $75.00 which will be
donated to support the Hope Lodge. It is a
home away from home for cancer patients
receiving treatment in the Worcester and
Boston area hospitals. They provide free
lodging and transportation to patients and
family members who must travel to receive
life-saving access to treatment not available
where they live.
Those attending the museum tour were:
Harold & Ruth Rahrauer, Charlotte &
Charlie Sherman, David & Joyce Horton,
Jean Bernard, Sal DiForte, Serge Richard,
Jim & Diane Ewing, George Pasay, Leo
Ferrari, George Trainque, Wayne Preisch,

JEANNITA for making this happen …!!!)
With a little Help from our Friends ...!!!
JEANNITA, JOYCE & DAVE HORTON and DIANE & JIM EWING supplied this month's stories and photos…
including the front page PIX photos of SERGE’S Red Caliente… THANKS from ALL of US...!!!
WHY NOT GET INVOLVED in "our Newsletter" and take a half dozen photos and write a paragraph for the next event
you attend this Summer...??? After all ..."somebody" has gotta do it ...!!! Editor-Tom

MASSACHUSETTS ASSOCIATION OF AUTO CLUBS (M.A.A.C. )
Protecting the Interests of the Hobby...!!!
House Bill 3782 – Sales price for determining sales tax calculation.
This Bill is moving along favorably toward final approval and application This successful
effort represents a significant effort undertaken by the MAAC organization and through their
funding of a Lobbyist to promote guidance through the approval process.
There have been numerous examples where the purchaser of an antique auto was assessed a
NADA value rather than the purchase price and the resultant sales tax was a significant
amount above that which would have been if the Bill of Sale value had been used.
Mid-State AAC is progressive in being a member of MAAC and fortunate in that our member Tom
Yoder is on the MAAC Board of Directors . MAAC does a great job of monitoring Legislative action that
would impact our hobby.
