At the end of the 19th century,
Bonneval became an important
centre for alpinism with famous
guides like Pierre Blanc, known as
“the Pope”. Photos, documents
and objects present the beginning
of alpinism and winter sports in
Bonneval.

At the heart of the Vanoise National
Park, at 2400m altitude, discover the
highest restoration of a Chappe des
Alpes telegraph, on the Lyon-Milan
line, originally built in 1807 by
Napoleon. The relics were discovered
in 2002 in Savoie, and have now
regained all their initial splendour
and are really worth a visit. This
is possible via the marked routes
leading up to the Mollard-Fleury
site leaving from either Sardières or
Aussois.

spots – indoor heated picnic room at the chalet. Home cooking
made using local produce.
Built in 2014, the Lo Tsamou mountain refuge accommodates
up to 36 guests, it is entirely self-sufficient and ecological, and
all rooms are heated. The refuge offers a panoramic view over the
mountain peaks of the Vanoise and Haute Maurienne.
Due to open from the beginning of July to the 6th September,
and from the 25th October at weekends and during the week on
reservation. Joseph and Lola look forward to welcoming you and
introducing you to their traditional dishes.
