Hello to all,
I want to thank all who worked the Pot Roast Dinner and the Ash
Wednesday Fish Sandwiches events. Thanks again.
Now it’s time to talk about March. Commander Mark’s favorite time of
the year. St Patrick, Shamrocks, Green Beer and plenty of “Blarney”.
What a beautiful thing.
The Cicero American Legion will once again be in the St. Patrick’s
Day Parade on Saturday March 12th. Last year we made our initial
splash in the Parade. We were the talk of the day. We all had a great
time and this year we’ll be even bigger and better. So, get some green
and come out ‘cause we’re looking for more walkers.
The following day, Sunday March 13th, we continue the festivities
with our Annual Corned Beef and Cabbage or Ham & Cabbage Dinner
along with our Ham Raffle. Come on out and enjoy a great day with all
your Legion Lepricons. Dinner starts at 1PM until 5PM or gone. Save
the date.
Thursday, March 17th, is St. Patrick’s Day. My favorite Day. I hope
everyone has a Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Our normal General Membership Meeting (third Thursday of month) will be postponed until the
following Thursday, March 24th, for all of us Irish People. Enjoy your
day.
Saturday, March 19th, we host the
Town of Cicero Easter Egg Hunt and
the Son’s have their ‘Breakfast with
the Easter Bunny”.
Sunday, March 27th, from 8 - 11 AM,
we have our Annual Easter Breakfast
for our Legion Family. That’s always a
great day. Quarters will be closed on
Easter Sunday. I’d like to wish our
entire Legion Family a Happy and
Blessed Easter.
Reminder … next General Membership Meeting is Thursday March 24th.
Hope to see you all soon at the
Legion. Come in often and become an
active member.
Mark

Adjutant’s Agitation
Our membership is now at 648 or 35 short of our goal. The
Keycard Locks have been changed so if your card doesn't work
and you have not paid your dues you are out of luck and are
locked out. Your membership has to be current to get a new
membership card. Remember, let me know if you renew on line
with a copy of your receipt from National. If you meet a legionnaire who belongs to Post 1, talk him to transfer to our Post, we
need the membership. Any transfer from another Post needs the
transfer form (behind the bar) and a copy of their DD-214.

Post Adjutant/Membership Chair.
If you renew on-line - - make sure you print your
new membership card and notify Doug Herrmann

From the Chaplain:
Dear members,
You are in distress when a loved one becomes ill, have surgery, get injured or passes away, that is understandable, but
please let the Chaplain know as soon as possible so our Legion
can take appropriate action. I check the obituaries each morning, but if no mention of military service or being a Legion member, the family may think we don't care which is never the
case. Please email or call Chaplain Heidenreich with information at [email protected] or 315-345-0702 or 315-458-3895.
Fellow Legionnaires Make Final Call
