How time flies. We have been very busy this summer and enjoyed welcoming many visitors to our Mission and our City. Now the vacations are over and it’s back to school. It is a quiet time for us. We are going to be taking inventory, enjoying this respite while getting ready for our next busy season. It is our hope that you enjoyed a fun and fabulous summer vacation and are back home safe from your travels. It is also our pleasure to welcome the new students to our community and hope they will thrive in this beautiful place we call home. As you may know for some years we have been making Rosaries, pocket rosaries, and rosary bracelets. It has turned into a regular cottage industry. The unique opportunity of watching others make things by hand has not lost its’ charm and over the years continues to be a big draw. We can hardly keep up sometimes with the demand as we have also added auto rosaries and necklaces to our Mission line. Whether you are searching for a special gift, a handmade Rosary, or just looking - you will find our staff to be helpful and courteous. Come in and browse – sit a while and read or listen to the music. We are here to serve you 7 days a week from 9-5 pm. You may also visit us online @ www.missionsanluisobispo.org and click on the Gift Shop for a secure shopping experience. They describe the sessions as an opportunity to go beneath the media hype in order to consider what the Pope is saying and how it relates to our understanding of the challenges facing humanity today. Leaders are Rev. Caroline Hall, Bob Pelfrey, and Carol McPhee. St. Benedict’s is on LOVR, across from the cemetery. He was brought by friends who also had faith in Jesus’ healing power. Jesus touched the man’s ears and anointed his tongue with spittle. Looking toward heaven, Jesus commanded that the man’s ears be open. At the same time, the man’s tongue was free and he began to talk. Mark’s gospel frequently has Jesus telling those cured not to say anything about what has happened, but many of the people, including those who witnessed this miracle, could not keep the news to themselves.
