Mel Bay Publishing has been a member of the
Chamber of Commerce since 2002! Mel Bay built
its printing and publishing building in Pacific in
1976. The firm publishes music books that are
marketed through music retail stores worldwide.
In 1947 Mel Bay, the founder of the publishing
firm, established his business and got a grant to
write a book on a different way to play the guitar.
He published the book himself and sold copies
from the trunk of his car while traveling to music
stores around the country. He sold 12 million
copies. To date Mel Bay Publishing publishes
how-to music books to thousands of musicians.

Gap Financing Available for Small Businesses in
Franklin County
Gap financing is available for small businesses in Franklin County that need
additional loan funds beyond what they were able to obtain from a traditional
lender. These loans come from a Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) available to
businesses in Franklin County.
To be eligible for a loan from the RLF the business must:

Be located in Franklin county (new or existing business)
•
Create or retain jobs
•
Demonstrate the need for gap financing
•
Support and enhance the regional economy
