CHARLES SHAUGHNESSY (King
Francis) was born to a showbiz family
in London and educated at Eton and
Cambridge University, where he tried
to “do something sensible” by getting
a degree in law. It didn’t work. From
Urinetown on Broadway to The Nanny on TV (with
many stops in between), Charles is grateful to have
earned a living in this crazy business. He is delighted to
be making his Paper Mill debut in Ever After, especially
as it reunites him with his Sullivan and Son girlfriend,
the magical Ms. Ebersole! Uh, oh…music playing…

TONY SHELDON (Leonardo da Vinci).
A native of Australia, where his many
starring roles include Man of La Mancha,
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Producers,
Private Lives, I Hate Hamlet, Noises Off,
Into the Woods, and Torch Song Trilogy,
Tony won a Theatre World Award and was nominated
for the Tony and Drama Desk Awards for his Broadway
debut as Bernadette in Priscilla Queen of the Desert. He
recently appeared in The Band Wagon at City Center
Encores! (directed by Kathleen Marshall), My Fair
Lady at the Guthrie, Hello, Dolly! at Goodspeed, Victor/
Victoria at TUTS, and Camelot at the Kennedy Center.
JAMES SNYDER (Prince Henry) loves
his wife, son Oliver, and baby-on-the-way
with all his heart. He recently starred on
Broadway opposite Idina Menzel in If/
Then. Also on Broadway as the titular role

Ebb Award with composing partner Zina Goldrich for
outstanding songwriting. Past productions include Dear
Edwina (DR2 Theatre—Drama Desk nomination),
Junie B. Jones (Theatreworks USA—Lucille Lortel
nomination), and The Great American Mousical
(Goodspeed). Current projects in development include
Hollywood Romance, The Marcy and Zina Show
(performer/writer), and an upcoming collaboration with
Universal Stage Productions. Her romantic comedy songs
are featured in The Songs of Goldrich and Heisler, now
available from Hal Leonard. This is her Paper Mill debut.
ZINA GOLDRICH (Music) won the Fred Ebb

Goldrich and Heisler’s show The Great American
Mousical, directed by Julie Andrews, premiered at
Goodspeed. She has recently begun work on a musical
produced by Universal Stage Productions. Their songs

MARK S. HOEBEE (Producing Artistic Director)
joined the artistic team at Paper Mill Playhouse in 2000.
Under his artistic leadership, Paper Mill launched the
American premiere of the 25th Anniversary production
of Les Misérables in 2010, working alongside Cameron
Mackintosh, and was home to the world premieres of
Newsies in 2011, in partnership with Disney Theatrical
Productions, and Honeymoon in Vegas in 2013. On
Broadway, Mark directed the Actors Fund benefit of
The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas starring Academy
Award winner Jennifer Hudson. He directed national
tours of Victor/Victoria starring Grammy winner Toni
Tennille, Dreamgirls, Company, and An Evening of Lerner
and Loewe starring Diahann Carroll. Directing credits

TODD SCHMIDT (Managing Director) is in his
fifth season at Paper Mill Playhouse, having previously
worked for George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick.
He served as executive producer of Peninsula Players
Theatre in Wisconsin, where he produced 70 plays
and led the theater through a remarkable period of
growth, culminating in the opening of a state-ofthe-art performance space. In Chicago, Todd worked
with Chicago Shakespeare, Goodman, and Apple
Tree Theatre, and he directed and produced The
Woman in Black (Jefferson Award nomination for
best production). He currently serves on the boards
of ArtPride New Jersey and the Downtown Millburn
Development Alliance, and he is chairman of the
NJ Theatre Alliance and an advisory board member
of Investors Bank. Todd holds an MFA degree from
DePaul University and a BA from Auburn University.
