A Word From Our Pastor
THE PASSION OF THE LORD
Today is Palm Sunday which marks the beginning of Holy
Week. It is the holiest week for Christians, throughout the world when
we celebrate the passion, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus.
Within Holy Week we have the “Triduum” which begins on Holy
Thursday with the Lord’s Last Supper with His disciples; during the
meal Jesus washed their feet. Also while they were still eating, Jesus
instituted the Sacraments of the Holy Eucharist and the order of the
priesthood. During Good Friday, we commemorate the Crucifixion
and Death of Jesus on the Cross. The “Triduum” culminates with the
Easter Vigil Celebration, the Resurrection of the Lord, the triumph
of life over death.
My dear brothers and sisters, the ultimate question that we
need to ask ourselves during this Holy Week is why did Jesus accept
to suffer and eventually die on the Cross? The response is simple because He Loves Us!! Therefore, we as Christians, the Cross is truly
the perfect symbol of love. Thank you, Lord Jesus for loving us so
perfectly! As community of Christians, let us celebrate and strive to
love the Lord with all our hearts and souls, everyday of our lives.
Blessings!
