Today we celebrate the 59th Birthday/ Anniversary of Brentwood Hills. Twentyseven individuals gathered for the first time at 5120 Franklin Road for a mid-week service on Wednesday May 18, 1955. By the following Sunday the group had grown to fifty-two and for nearly six decades a “Christ-centered” congregation has met at this location looking out at the Brentwood Hills. We are thankful for those early leaders and their vision. We have been blessed by Godly men who have served as dedicated elders. Over the years thousands have come through our doors and God has blessed us in many ways! This is our family. Tonight, following our igNIGHT service, we will celebrate with a cook out and a time of fellowship. If you have not signed up for this FREE meal, please stop by the kiosk in the foyer. Following the meal, everyone will be invited to the auditorium to share memories during an “open mike” time led by Buzzy Neil. Today we will be reminded of our heritage, as we sing “Blest Be the Tie”! In the early days, whenever the church family would gather they would sing that song before leaving to go and share “Light and Love” to the world! What a great way for all of us to continue our Journey to the Son! WEDNESDAY, May 21, 6:30 AUDITORIUM CLASS “The Journey from Visitor to Member” Please join Kerry Stiles as he talks to several of our members about their experiences when they first came to BHCC. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – June 15 – 18 Nursery – 6th grade! Registration continues in the foyer. The deadline to order T-shirts is May 25th. If you are interested in being a part of our miked singing team during our worship times, you’re invited to attend an informal practice session of the group. Join us in the small auditorium on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. As a part of your visit, you’ll sit with others in your voice part. During this time, we’ll simply see how your voice blends collectively with the rest of the group and share some of our experiences with you to see if this position is a good fit for you and the team as a whole. We have plenty of fun also, so please join us this Wednesday night if you are interested. If you have any questions, please contact Andrew Leeper in the church office, 832-2541 x240.
