FOR THE CATHOLIC REVIEW
The Oct. 29 issue of the Catholic Review will be the last issue
in newspaper format. Starting in Advent, a new Catholic
Review magazine will be delivered to parishes and homes in
the archdiocese. Four times a year, including the Advent/
December issue which should arrive around Nov. 20, the
magazine will be mailed directly to your home. Eight times a
year, you will receive the magazine at your local parish at
Mass. In addition to the new magazine format, Catholic
Review Media will enhance its website and social media
offerings, and the digital edition will be available free to all.
We are also adding two new ways for you to connect to your
local parish and to the archdiocese. FlockNote, an email and
texting tool, will provide an easy way for your parish to
contact you with important news about the parish and the
archdiocese. myParish, an app for Android and Apple mobile
phones and tablets, provides daily readings and prayers and
many more ways to be engaged with your faith. Stay tuned
for our Get Connected Weekend at the parish, where we will
help you get connected to all these new ways to
communicate the Good News.

Adult Faith Formation
Youth Choir
Joy of Marriage: The current series focuses on the gift of our
Marriages; after all 10am masses (English) in October. Food
will be included, so please register at the office. Spanish
offerings will be announced shortly. We will tackle the
Church's teaching on human sexuality, the gift of the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony and the top ethical questions that
challenge us today. Have you ever wondered what exactly
we believe and how we can practice our faith in this day and
age? Marriage is not the one day wedding, but a continued
lifelong commitment with lifelong formation to strengthen
and uplift our called vocation. No matter if married for decades or years or even months, as Pope Francis has stated, we
can learn joy through little gestures in the family and God
invites all of us to continue enriching our marriages in all
stages of life.
This Fall, the music ministry has expanded to include
a youth choir in which all singers and
instrumentalists in the 7th grade or older are invited
to participate. The group will provide music every
other Saturday at the 4pm Mass, we will sing again on October 31,
with rehearsal at 2:45pm in the church. For a full list of dates and
more information, please contact Mike Langlois.
Bible Study continues! October 7th, we covered Jesus’
Sermon on the end times, the signs of the Parousia
and the Day of the Son of Man. Mt Ch 24 and 25.
Around the end of October, we should be starting
Matthew’s account of the Passion. We should finish Matthew
before Thanksgiving. We meet weekly on Wednesdays after
the 8am Mass.
Young Adult Ministry
Once a month, Resurrection young adults (emerging
adults, college age, etc.) are invited to join us in
prayer, discussions and more as we listen to dynamic
talks and share information with one another.
LCYA and Resurrection present October offerings of 2nd
Saturday Adoration: Catholic Revolution, 4th Sunday
Fellowships and Oct 31 Sermon on the Mount Hike on
Sugarloaf Mountain.

RCIA/RICA
We welcome all those that were recently fully
initiated into full communion with the Church
through the sacraments of the Holy Eucharist and
Confirmation. If you are interested in becoming
Catholic or finishing your sacraments in order to come into
full communion with the church, we welcome you to join us
in conversation and fellowship. Join us through the Rites of
Christian Initiation (RCIA).
Please stop by the office, or join us at a Sunday Mass. We
will be starting the Symbolon Series for all Inquirers soon.
To all parishioners: Who have you invited into the faith?
Share how you encounter Christ with another person today
and watch how God grows the faith: Have we done
everything to ensure each person we meet knows the love of
God? You don't need to be a theologian or expert on the
Bible to help others know God. You just have to answer the
call and be willing. If you have felt a calling to bring people to
the church, please contact us to find out how you can
support this wonderful and rewarding ministry.

Youth Ministry
If you are interested in sharing your faith and joining
in on exciting activities, learning new praise and
worship songs, and serving the community, be sure
to attend. The group is growing and we would love
to see you there! All Level 8 and High School youth
are invited! Next meeting will be October 28th at
7:30-9pm in the Magdalene Room.
Please help us reach our goals of more retreats, conferences and
more by donating to the sponsor/adopt a youth program here at
Resurrection of Our Lord. Sponsor cards are now available after
Mass and at the office. This fundraiser will help our youth while
they continue their journey of formation.
Youth Confirmation
Next Youth Confirmation meeting is on Nov 14th. Don’t
forget your weekly challenges and check out the Take it
Home section of your Book. Please bring your books
and any paperwork with you to all sessions. All
paperwork and fees were due by the end of July. Calls
to the homes are being made if paperwork is still outstanding
(Sponsor, Registration, Baptismal Certificates and fee). Volunteer
hours should be starting up as they are due in December.
If you have not been attending Saturday Confirmation Preparation,
which started in February, the next class will be in 2016.
The Retreat is expected to take place the weekend of March 18 at
the Sparks retreat house.

Faith Formation News
Faith Formation – Classes resume Sunday or Monday.
Christmas Bazaar - Young people are encouraged to make
a contribution towards baskets for the Christmas
Bazaar. Class assignments for specific gifts can be found on
the faith formation bulletin board outside the parish hall.

Bring it Home - This week, in the Gospel reading, blind Bartimaeus
calls out to the Lord for pity and healing. The disciples, hopeful of
God’s mercy, instruct him "Take courage; get up, Jesus
is calling you." Who, in your family and among your
neighbors, needs courage and invitation? Bring the
Scripture Home this week by offering another a
message of hope.

Altar Servers: There will be a training session for new altar servers
on Saturday, October 31st from 10am to 12pm in the church. Children
who have received their First Communion should consider this great
opportunity to assist in service of our Parish. Parents of interested
children are asked to call the office or email [email protected].
Would you like to serve in our parish as a Lector, Usher, or
Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion? Training will be
held this Fall. Please email [email protected] or call the office to
let us know you’re interested.
Community Yard Sale: will take place Saturday October
31st from 8am-2pm. The sale will take place in the
Hall. Applications are in the narthex, or call the office.
As you clean out your house with treasures, the church will accept
them for the Christmas bazaar. Please no TVs, VCRs, furniture,
exercise equipment, and computer equipment.
Christmas Bazaar: Resurrection’s Annual Christmas Wonderland
Bazaar is quickly approaching. So, mark your calendar for Friday,
Nov. 13th (5pm-8pm) & Sat. Nov. 14th (8am-2pm). Raffle tickets will
be available soon. Many elves are needed to make this
event “Resurrection’s largest fundraiser of the year” a
success. Anyone who would like to join Santa’s team,
please attend today’s meeting at 3pm in the Magdalene
Room. Merry Christmas!
ROOL's Food Pantry is open again to receive food
donations. We are low on food items. Every year we
prepare Thanksgiving and Christmas Food baskets for
families in need. We ask if you can help with contributions
of canned vegetables, meats and fruits, instant mashed
potatoes, gravy, and cranberry, as well as other foods items you wish
to donate.

Knights of Columbus News
Team Resurrection congratulates the following participants in our
Knights of Columbus Soccer Shootout on September 13: Eric Mical
(11 yrs Boys), Aiden Connolly (9yrs boys), Jeffrey Esquivel (9yrs boys),
Dailyn Reyes (9yrs Girls). These winners will compete on October 24
at the Resurrection field from 1pm-2:30pm. Other participants were
Branden Esquivel, Christopher Reyes, Liam Connolly, and Anila Robinson.

matrimonios; después de las Misas de 10am (Inglés) en

Abordará la enseñanza de la iglesia sobre la sexualidad humana,
el don del Sacramento del Santo matrimonio y las principales

Confirmación de Jóvenes
La próxima reunión de jóvenes de confirmación es el
14 de noviembre. No olvide sus desafíos semanales y
cheque la sección de su libro de llevarlo a casa. Por
favor traigan sus libros y cualquier papeleo con usted
a todas las sesiones. Todos los trámites y cuotas vencen a finales de julio. Se están haciendo llamadas a las casas si
todavía faltan documentos (patrocinador, registro, certificados
de bautismo y cuota). Las horas de trabajo voluntario deben
empezar deben ser completados en diciembre.
Se espera que el retiro tenga lugar el fin de semana del 18 de
marzo en la casa de retiros Sparks.
Si no ha asistido a la preparación para la confirmación los sábados, la cual comenzó en febrero, la siguiente clase será en 2016.

Venta de Estacionamiento de la Parroquia: el sábado 31
de octubre de 8:00am-2:00pm. La venta se llevará de a
cabo en el salón. Las aplicaciones están en el Nártex.
Mientras limpia su casa con los tesoros, la iglesia los aceptará para el
Bazar de Navidad. Por favor, no traiga TV, VCRs, mobiliario, equipo de
ejercicios o equipos informáticos.
Bazar Navideño: El Bazar Navideño Anual del País de las Maravillas de
Resurrección se acerca rápidamente. Entonces, marque su calendario
para el viernes 13 de noviembre (5:00pm-8:00pm) y el sábado 14 de
noviembre (8:00am-2:00pm). Boletos para la rifa se enviará pronto.
Muchos elfos se necesitan para que este evento que es el
"Recaudador de fondos más grande de Resurrección del año"

Despensa de ROOL vuelve a estar abierta para recibir donaciones de
alimentos. Estamos bajos en alimentos. Cada año preparamos canastas
de alimentos para el Día de Acción de Gracias y Navidad para
familias necesitadas. Le pedimos si puede ayudar con aportes
de verduras enlatadas, carnes y frutas, puré instantáneo de
papas, salsa y arándanos, así como otros artículos de
alimentos que desee donar.
Donaciones para la Caja de Pobres: Por favor use el sobre azul
marcado “Poor Box” para donaciones monetarias, que se encuentran
en las bancas. Los sobres se pueden colocar en las canastas de
recolección. Estos fondos son para ayudar a los necesitados de la
parroquia y la comunidad.
Noticias de Los Caballeros de Colón
El equipo de Resurrección felicita a los siguientes participantes en nuestros juegos de práctica de Fútbol de los Caballeros de Colón el 13 de
septiembre: Eric Mical (niño de 11 años), Aiden Connolly (niño de 9
años), Jeffrey Esquivel (niño de 9 años), Dailyn Reyes (niña de 9 años).
Estos ganadores competirán el 24 de octubre en el campo de Resurrección de 1:00-2:30pm. Otros participantes fueron Branden Esquivel, Cristóbal Reyes, Liam Connolly y Anila Robinson.
La próxima reunión del Consejo es el 3 de noviembre en la sala de
