Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe Pilgrimage The Hispanic community at St. Al’s is organizing a Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Des Plaines, IL) on Sunday, July 31, with a coach bus leaving the St. Al’s parking lot. Sponsor a Family – Give food during Summer Break Numerous families in the Sauk Prairie area struggle to provide food for their children. 6:8 is looking for sponsors for $25 each. Each family (165 total) will receive a bag of food and vouchers for meat, dairy, and produce from local stores. 100% of each donation goes directly towards food for the family. Parish Council Nominations Nominations have closed for the upcoming year on the Parish Council. Four people have been nominated, and one declined. Due to this, there will not need to be a parish-wide election. Congratulations to Della Ryan and Marsha England on their re-election to the council. Congratulations to Dean Brickl as a new member. Nick Ringelstetter was nominated for another three-year term and declined. Thank you to Nick and his family for his three years as an elected member on the council. An annual meeting will be announced shortly. Volunteers to Pray the Rosary The Rosary is prayed before Masses at St. Al’s year-round. Everyone is encouraged to come about 20 minutes before Mass time and join in praying the Rosary with your parish family. I do have some exciting news for you all. Bishop Morlino has decided to ordain two young men from the Society of Jesus Christ the Priest here at St. Aloysius. They will be ordained to the diaconate on Friday, July 22 this summer. The two candidates are James Kotch, a native of New Jersey and William Gonzalez from Ecuador. Your prayers for them as they make their final preparations will be greatly appreciated. I would like to extend an invitation to the entire parish to join us for such a joyful event.
