“A Few to Preserve the Best” PRESERVATION - RESTORATION - ENJOYMENT - DEDICATION - EDUCATION From the President April 4, 2014 Hi Ho Mustangers, Well the snow is finally gone, and we can start thinking about getting the cars out!! With the Model A Swap meet behind us, the show season is just around the corner. So that being said, it is time for all good Mustangers to come to the aid of our show. We need all members to go out and to get those door prizes and give them to Debbie Snyder. As of the last meeting we had only 2!!!! Now is also the time to send in your pre-registration for the show. This cuts down on time at the gate, as well as, at the registration table. If you are on the show work sign up sheet, please contact Jack Winter and let him know whether you are planning to work the show or not. We are looking for someone to work the club swap space since Sal has another commitment. The club dinner was a great event. I would like to thank all who attended, and especially Sharon Doria for the set up work. If you work the show you still get a free dinner on the club. At the dinner the Mustanger of the Year award was presented to Sal Lorino for a very long list of service to the club. This is one that was long over due!!!!!!! CONGRATS SAL!!!!!!!!!! On April 12th we have a seminar at Dick Doria's with details in the news letter. If you are planning to attend please contact Dick. Jack Winter will be putting out show flyers at Spring Jefferson on April 25th through the 27th. The April 26th registration dead line is fast approaching for the Ice Breaker Brunch Run. All the details are in the news letter. If you are planning on attending, you need to get your deposit to Wayne Mudek ASAP. Please keep Jerry and Cathy Lyons in your thoughts as Jerry's mom passed 2 weeks ago. That's all for now, more next month. Yours in Stangdom, Tom Visit our updated website thanks to Wisnet and Dick Doria at www.wemustangers.com P.S. We met 2 new members to our club and we are so glad they were able to join us. A reminder that the NWTC Car Show in Green Bay is on Sunday, May 4th. Someone asked when the Sheboygan club was having their car show this year. Thanks to Judy, we found out that they are having their car show at Dorsch Ford in Green Bay, on June 21st (1st Annual N.E.W. Stangs Mustang Stampede) Mackinaw City Mustang Stampede is July 17 -19, 2014 (Mackinawcity.com). Any of the FVFM Club members that recruit a new member will be put into a drawing for a custom metal sign using a picture of their vehicle. We will be ordering pink t-shirts and camo t-shirts. If any club members are interested in ordering their size, please contact me and we will add them to the order. They will have our club logo on the left chest and we are going to have "50 Years" inside the horse logo. We are going to only order around 10 of each to sell at the car show. Our club member "Deb" brought some samples of the embroidered towels and can coolers that she can do. She will have some items available as prizes at the car show this year and may take orders next year for personalized items. We looked at past Dash Plaques and gave Bill some ideas of what we wanted for the plaque for this years car show. We still have some of our Business Cards if anyone needs them to hand out at various events. We plan on ordering more with more detailed information on where our club is located (Appleton, WI). Lynn will send out the list of Mustang years that she is still looking for that can participate in the Downtown Appleton "License To Cruise" on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014. We will be looking at ordering the trophies in the next month. We would like to get something that has a Mustang horse on it in honor of the 50 years celebration. CAR SHOW Planning - We plan on ordering about the same amounts of food items and drink that we had last year. It was suggested that we get more water and add diet Sierra Mist. We will go over everything at our next meeting. All members are reminded to bring a car related item to use as prizes for the drawings. You will get a FREE burger/drink coupon for each item. We will hopefully get more scale models donated along with a few other items to use for the raffle where all proceeds will be donated to "Make-A-Wish Foundation". Planned Cruises for 2014: July 20 - Wisconsin Dells Cruise, August 17 - Doc's Harley Davidson Cruise, and September 21 - Lake Poygan Area Cruise. Please remember to mark these dates on your calendar. Anyone is invited to cruise along. Our next meeting will be on Saturday, May 3, at 3:30pm at the Time Out Sports Bar in Manitowoc, WI.
