An early pioneer in electrical engineering and the automotive retail business, in
1912 Jack Delmar-Morgan created a motor yacht that was unique. His yacht
Mansura was designed to run selectively under petrol, electric or sail power
alone or under any combination of these sources. The petrol engine could be
started electrically and the yacht was equipped with electric lighting, cooking and
water heating systems. The hybrid power train delivered 9 knots under petrol
power, between 5 and 8 knots under electric power and 11 knots under both but
just as impressive was the silent running and ease of her operation and
maneuvrability.

Fred Bellis started in 1999 to design a new way of Sailing

Starting as a Hobby and a challenge Together with his Neighbor Jack Kroeff,
building for both their own Electrical boat.


Electric boating starts as a dream to Cruise along the most beautiful spots without any disturbing or disturbing
it, as a optimal way of relaxing !

After 3 years (2002) more and more installations were built and
Bellmann is officially founded.

The old: Tjet Rixt
(Oldest Sailing yacht of the Netherlands 1843)

Als Bellmann zijn we dan ook erg trots dat we dit sierraad van
maritiem Nederland hebben mogen motoriseren en ervaren het als
een groot compliment dat het Zuiderzee museum Enkhuizen ons het
vertrouwen heeft gegeven de TJET RIXT, de oudste nog varende
boeier (1843) in Nederland, elektrisch varend te hebben mogen
maken.
In samenspraak met het Zuiderzee museum is de pas 2 jaar oude 65
pk diesel motor verwijderd, en is er een SilentProp 10,0 kW systeem
voor terug geplaatst.
Met als resultaat dat de kuip van de Tjet Rixt weer in oude glorie kon
worden hersteld doordat de grote motorkist (restauratie 2007)
volledig kon worden verwijderd.
