arriAnns is a family business which has
proudly spanned across 3 generations. We
specialize in traditional Peranakan cuisine and
Teochew-style Glutinous Rice.
Our humble beginnings started with a
push-cart in the Tiong Bahru vicinity in the
1940s. Our Ah Ma, Madam Chia Nguk Eng,
peddled her Teochew-style sweet and
savoury glutinous rice and Nonya Kueh to
make ends meet.
In 1950, Ah Ma moved into the Tiong Bahru
market and set up our flagship stall. Her
delicious foods quickly gained her a huge
following.

Upon her retirement in 1985, she handed
down her treasured family recipes to her son,
Harry and her daughter-in-law, Annie.
The business was then renamed aptly as
"HarriAnns".
In July 2014, HarriAnns Nonya Table, our
flagship cafe opened its doors to the public.
Our novel pairing of traditional Nanyang Kopi
& Teh with Nonya Kueh proved to be very
popular amongst locals and tourists alike.

We also introduced traditional Peranakan hot
food offerings such as Nonya Laksa, Curry
Chicken, Mee Siam and Ayam Ponteh - all
cooked using Ah Ma's recipes, the way she
would cook them!
