Wheaties Project
Select a current baseball icon that you
believe belongs on a Wheaties-type cereal
box. This icon may be a current or past
baseball player. He/she must be an icon
that fans can look up to and respect. You
will decorate a real cereal box with
illustrations and information related to the
icon using the directions
Front of Box
1. Use a piece of white or light colored paper to cover the
front of your box. (You will probably want to create the
cover before gluing it on your box.)
2. Include the name of the cereal and a picture. Invent a
name for the cereal this is related to the icon and sounds
like a cereal.
3. Choose a shape for the cereal as well as color and
ingredients that all relate to baseball.
4. Include a baseball idiom that suits your icon and cereal.
5. Include a prize. Cereal boxes often include prizes inside
them. Your prize must be something that symbolizes your
icon. You can even include a picture of the prize on the
front of the box to let the consumer know what is inside
the box.
Right Side of Box
Make a list of statistics/characteristics.
You must include at least 5 statistics about
this icon. Statistics/characteristics can
include height, weight, birth date, batting
average, etc.
Left Side of Box
Choose one strong adjective to describe your icon.
Write that characteristic then write three facts
about your icon that supports that adjective.
Include one opinion on that side as well.
