Finding Kind is a powerful documentary that raises awareness of
and fosters change within the “girl world” of bullying. In this movie,
individual girls and women share their personal experiences of girlon-girl bullying and the universal truths about growing up as girls.
Panel discussion to follow.
Students age 11 and older are also welcome and encouraged to
attend along with their parents. Finding Kind is appropriate for
both female and male audiences. Registration is required to reserve
your ticket(s). To register, call (866)253-9426 or go to
www.alexianbrothershealth.org/events. Tickets may run out;
people who do not register in advance are not guarnteed a seat.
Optional Childcare is available through the Holy Family Nursery for
a nominal fee. RSVP for childcare required. Contact Gina at 224-3053760 or [email protected]. Reserving a ticket for this event
does not automatically reserve childcare or vice versa.
It’s not too late to join this
ministry! We have several
Ignite classes that would
benefit from having a peer
minister. Next Peer Event:

their faith. Don’t miss out. Space is limited!$100 deposit secures your spot. Final cost for this amazing weekend
is $625. Cost includes conference fees, transportation, 3 night hotel stay, t-shirt, sweatshirt,
hat, 3 breakfasts, pizza party with DJ, 1 dinner out and memorabilia to trade. Holy Family partners with Our Lady
of the Wayside and St. Mary’s to take an entire bus full of teenagers to the National Catholic Youth Conference.

and explore the massive gathering that is NCYC!
KAIROS
registration
open for
K16 and K17
K16 will be held on November 8-11, 2013 and K17 will be
held on February 14-17, 2014. These popular four day
retreats are open to all juniors and seniors in high school.
The Kairos retreat is an opportunity for young people to
focus their attention on the relationship to self, others and
God and to come to a personal understanding of how Christ
fits into his or her daily life. Through an accepting community
of peers including a leadership team of adults and senior
leaders who attended the retreat as juniors, most teens
describe Kairos as a positive, sometimes life-changing
experience. Peer pressure during the high school years is at a
maximum. Young people are often “forced’’ to act in a
certain way. The retreat atmosphere allows the young
person to examine his/her life more freely, honestly and
openly and gives him or her the lived experience of Christian
community. For more information or to register, contact
Denise Logan or visit our website.
What is Kairos?
What is all the hype about?
Who can go?
How do I get that cool cross?
Why should I send my teen?
How much does it cost?
All these questions and more will be
answered at our first ever
“What Is Kairos” Meeting on
Thursday, October 3rd
from 6:30-8pm.
