Hoping our Board will consider this idea! Thanks to Jack Garabedian for taking the group photo. Do we need to make this an annual event? Shall we meet in Bloomfield again? Will one of the other clubs host it next time? (Ray and Mary Anne) AprilTBA 19-21 Nov Henderson, KY / overnight (TBA) - John James Audubon (David and Barbara Estes) (Mary Ellen) Dec 5 Holiday Dinner and Auction Party (Membership Meeting) Hosted at Brad and Reda Leasor At their home in Paris, Ky Sept 19th State Region Gathering in Bloomfield, Ky By Mary Anne and Ray Szeluga What a fun gathering of Kentucky AACA regions. From great weather to meeting other AACA Kentucky Region members. The forecasted rain didn't materialize. We met at the Versailles Dairy Queen before touring to Bloomfield, KY. Thanks to Charlie and Carolyn Simpson for leading the tour. AACA member's cars starting arriving after 11AM. We have been trying to organize this event for approximately three (3) years. There were many starts and stops over the years. Well it finally happened. Three (3) of the Kentucky's five (5) Regions were represented; Blue Grass (Lexington), KYANA (Louisville / Southern Indiana and Southern (Bowling Green). Approximately 60 members (30 cars) enjoyed the fellowship. I believe the oldest car was a 1920(?) Ford Model T Delivery truck. Thanks to the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge for cooking lunch. Mary Anne had a hot dog and hamburger while Ray had two hot dogs plus a hamburger. The sun was baking down and it was great to have a shelter. There were enough picnic tables for everyone. Betty, from KYANA, provided ideas for Region flags and screen printed t-shirts. She also told how they earn points Q: What car was the first to place the horn button in the center of the steering wheel? BLUEGRASS REGION ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE CLUB OF AMERICA September 5th Cars & Coffee (Non-Club Event) October 2015 By Jack Garabedian September 5th, Saturday, Cars & Coffee met at the new larger location at the Value City parking lot in Hamburg. Wow, we really had a great turnout. I think we had a total of 101 cars and total of 9 AACA Bluegrass Region members attended, that’s a first! I want to thank those who brought out their cars. It was hot and getting slightly humid. There were many fine looking cars as well as a few rare ones. Some of my picks are; 1950 Chevrolet Bel Air, 1950 Ford, 1969 Dodge Dart GT, 1977 Continental Mark V and 1933 Plymouth Coupe street rod. We all had a great time and the coffee as well as the food from Cosi was very good. September 12th Liberty Ridge Car Cruise In (Non-Club Event) By Jack Garabedian Saturday, September 12th, was the second annual Liberty Ridge Cruise-In fund raiser for Alzheimer’s. A few of us (AACA members) made the event even though the weather threatened us with signs of rain. Those who displayed their cars received a dash plaque and two meal tickets, my favorite part. They served flamed broiled burgers, hot dogs, brats, drinks, chips & popcorn from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. They did something different this year from last year. They had the residents’ committee pick 6 of their favorite cars and present each owner with a trophy. I would guess they had a total of 50 cars to choose from. Mr. Claude Swiney proudly presented a trophy to one of our own, Jimmy Powell, in his 1950 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop. Congratulations Jimmy! It was fun and best of all, the people at Liberty Ridge were great! A: The 1915 Scripps-Booth Model C. The car also was the first with electric door latches. I think we had more cars than the Louisville club which is 2-3 times our size. The Bowling Green club is way down in members but had a good group show up. If we do a tour down that way we should get together with them. This month is our overnight put on by John and Billie. Should be interesting and I am sure there still rooms for both nights. Lo and I are heading to Boone and Asheville after the tour if anyone would like to join us. We did not have a board meeting last month do to some family matters. We will meet this month so let me know if there is anything you feel we need to discuss. You will be getting a call in the next month or so about running for the board. This year we only elect three board members as officers now serve for two years.
