The goals are to give a complete overview of Catholic teachings and to begin to deepen a Christian spiritual life centered in the Sunday Scripture readings. The sacraments are received at the Easter Vigil Mass. Are you: a person who has not been baptized and would like to learn more about the Catholic faith with the possibility of becoming Catholic? a baptized Christian of another denomination who would like to learn more about and possibly join the Catholic church? a baptized Roman Catholic who has never received Eucharist or Confirmation and would like to complete their sacraments? a child over the age of 7 who has never been baptized or has been baptized in another Christian faith or has been baptized Catholic and has never received Catholic instruction. RCIA & RCIC offers an environment of support and guidance as you discover how God is working in your life. Is this process for you? Do you have a friend or neighbor who may be interested? For more information, contact Sr. Miriam at 663-3230 x104. Heindl Golf Tournament Sunday, August 19, 2012 Deerfield Country Club Registration Forms are available at the entrances of Church. This is a special year to celebrate the legacy of Fr. Elmer Heindl. An Armed Forces Reserves Center has been built in Ft. Benning, Georgia. This center will be dedicated September 8, 2012 in memory of “Lieutenant Colonel Chaplain Elmer W. Heindl” Proceeds from the tournament will benefit parish ministries of St. Charles Borromeo. LIGHTHOUSE CDS Check out the Lighthouse Catholic Media kiosks and literature racks (4 locations) at the back of church. There are many choices of CDs and now books have also been added to the mix. Although there is a suggested donation, fundraising is not the reason that these items are available. They are there to help us grow in our understanding and exercise of our faith. Also, they are to pass on as an evangelization tool for others. Dr. Scott Hahn, a former Presbyterian minister, tackles the issue of the Papacy in Why Do We Have a Pope? There are 2 CDs from discussions with Pope Benedict XVI: Light of the World and Salt of the Earth. A Father Who Keeps His Promises is a book by Dr. Hahn on God's covenant love in scripture. This is a small sampling of what is available.
