Chapter Fun Times
Chapter Campout - March 6-8, 2015
Cozy was the word that almost everyone used to describe the
club house at Payne RV Park in Theodore, AL when the Chapter
Roy Alsfeld
gathered for their monthly campout March 6-8, 2015. By Friday
afternoon 10 Dogwood Good Sams and 1 visitor (Roger and Betty
Hibbs’ second visit) rigs arrived to enjoy a quiet, relaxing and
peaceful weekend. Everyone soon
became friends with the stray
Schlatter,
Dottie Rance, LorraKen
Robert,
Connie Homan,
Jacque Blake
Carl & Joann Woodall, Jacque Blake, Lois Crutchfield,
Peggy Lee, Dianna Hughes
and extremely friendly
cat that was at the
campground.
Friday
Jacque Blake
afternoon
a
group
Dianna Huges
gathered to help put
Dottie Rance
together the USO Pop Wrap. Lolipops were indidually
Joanne Woodall
wrapped in spring fashion cloth and tied with a ribbon.
Dottie Rance
Friday evening everyone enjoyed the dry bean pot luck dinner, with many variations
Joanne Woodall
of dried cooked beans. Saturday morning started bright and early with the
Chapter meeting at 9:30 AM. During
the meeting many topics were
discussed.
- The group discussed and voted to
increase dues to $10 starting when
dues are due in October 2015.
Jacque Blake
Peggy Lee
- They also discussed need for a
Carolyn Alsfeld
Chapter Website but agreed that the Chapter Facebook page will change
from private to public and that if anyone wants to let Chapter members know something that’s personal
(like illness), then call or send an email to Lorra Robert and she will contact everyone.
- Additional discussions were about the Chapter cap of 25 rigs and what could be done to help as the
Chapter approaches the cap. Tommy Crutchfield will discuss this with
the state director and will let the
Chapter know the outcome.
After much discussion, Lois
Crutchfield will look into the price of
a small Dogwood Good Sams patch
Carolyn Alsfeld, Ken Schlatter,
Robert Lee, Bob Homan, Tyler Homan
David Denham, Mrytle Smallwood
and the price to have shirts
embroidered with the Dogwood Good Sams logo.
- The group talked about the 50/50 raffle with the conclusion that if you purchase a 50/50 ticket and
cannot be present, then write your name on the ticket that goes into the jug and you will not need to be
present to win. Also, the drawing will take place before the meal prayer on Saturday nights.

Saturday continued with a GREAT Chinese auction. The group made over $80 for their charities. And
Saturday evening everyone gathered for a Oriental pot luck dinner with quite a variety of food to choose
from. Roger Hibbs won the 50/50 drawing.
Sunday morning everyone got up a bit earlier (daylight savings time), packed up and made their way home.
And yes, the cat stayed behind. 
