Jim worked in the criminal justice field for most of his career. He was a corrections officer, worked on the streets with criminal teens and was a youth pastor primarily working with youth at risk. For 15 years he was executive director and founder of a youth mentor program called Teen Outdoor Adventure. It was an adventure based / experiential learning model that used hunting, fishing, survival and the outdoors to produce lifelong change in hurting young people. Jim had no intention of ever being a counselor. His passion for teens and families that are hurting drove him back to college so he would have more tools to offer those he served. During his internship at TCM, he realized that God had been directing his path the entire time. Psalm 37:23 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and He delights in his way.” Challenging God all the way, he decided to give it a try. His caring supervisor, Dr. Al Winebarger, opened his eyes to the healing power of counseling. Seeing lives change before his eyes let him know he was right where God wanted him. In 2005 Jim graduated from Spring Arbor University with a Master’s Degree in Counseling. He is currently a Limited Licensed Psychologist, Licensed UPCOMING SUPPORT GROUPS Men’s Support Group 9/3, 9/10, 9/17, 9/24 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm Women’s Support Group 9/14, 9/21, 9/28 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm Women’s With Chronic Conditions/Disabilities Support Group 9/23, 9/30 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Survivors of Loss to Suicide 9/3, 10/1, 11/5, 12/3 7:00 pm St. Patrick-St. Anthony Parish 920 Fulton Street Divorce Recovery and Transitions Series 9/2, 9/9, 9/16, 9/23, 9/30 6:15 pm to 7:30pm Hope Reformed Church Anger Management 9/14, 9/21, 9/28 5:30 pm—6:30 pm Client Quote “I'm glad I went to TCM Counseling because I used to feel like I could never get away from stress, but now I find myself able to relax.” ~Cody Professional Counselor and a Family Life Educator.
