Every year the 8th graders go to
New York City and Washington
D.C. This year they left for the
trip on the 25th of April and
came back on the 30th of April.
That gave them a lot of time for
hanging out with friends and,
site seeing.
The 8th graders were very
excited to go and I know a lot of
the 7th graders are looking forward to going to Washington
D.C. and New York City next
year.
Many 7th graders have heard
about New York City and are
very excited. An anonymous 7th
grader muses;
“I’m just so excited to go
shopping in New York. It just
sounds so fun.”
Not only did the 8th graders
who went to New York City and
D.C. have fun but the ones who
stayed behind at SEAS also had
fun.
Those 8th graders who stayed at SEAS
didn’t have to wear uniform or go to
classes. On April 30th they went to the
Great Wolf Lodge to swim in the water
park. Sydni Zamarron didn't go to Washington D.C. or New York, but she still
had fun. This is what she said,
“The best thing we did is go to the
Great Wolf Lodge, we swam, and went
to the arcade. Then we ate at Pizza
Hut.”
Katie Mcall did go to Washington D.C.
and New York, she said,
“I liked going to China Town, in New
York…”
Whether you are in New York, or at
the Great Wolf Lodge, the eighth grade
class trip is really fun.
We are hoping that the 7th graders will
be able to have the amazing opportunity
to go to New York City. It is expensive,
but it is an opportunity of a lifetime.

The Red Wings Play Offs
By: Nick Fisher and Dan Connolly
Nicklas Lidstrom
(player for the Red
Wings and our favorite
player) is the best
defenseman in the
NHL right now (see
picture of him below
right). Henrik Zetterberg (another player
for the Red Wings) is
one of our most favorite forwards on the Red
Wings along with Pavel
Datsyuk and Johan
Franzen (also seen on
the right). These are
just some of the great
players on the Red
Wings team.
The Red Wings are the #1
team in the NHL right now.
The teams that are in the
Stanley Cup (winner of the
tournament’s trophy) Playoffs (hockey’s tournament)
are: Colorado Avalanche,
Dallas Stars, Nashville
Predators, Philadelphia
Flyers, Detroit Red Wings,
Montreal Canadians, Anaheim Mighty Ducks,
Nicklas Lidstrom
Pittsburg Penguins, Calgary
Flames, New York Rangers,
Minnesota Wild, San Jose
Sharks, Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins, New Jersey Devils and Ottawa Senators. At the time we are writing this the Red Wings are
still in the Play Offs and just
eliminated Nashville Predators and Colorado Avalanche.

The 7th and 8th grader’s trips
By: Ben Alpers and James Brady
The 8th graders went to Michigan Adventures on June 6th.
The trip would normally cost
about $25.00 per person. The
8th graders only had to pay
$19.00 per person. The park
does this for a lot of schools to
make it affordable.
It took approximately two
hours to get there by bus. The
8th graders were there for the
entire school day. If it was us
we would try to ride all the rides
we could. Michigan adventures
has 60 rides including the water
park. There is a new ride called
the Thunder Hawk, which
sounds like fun.
Mrs. Troppman who
went last year said, “It was
so much fun! I rode Shivering Timbers for the first
time! “
When she went on the
Cork Screw it was the first
time riding upside down for
Mrs. Troppman.
The 7th graders went to
Mackinaw Island on June
6th.
It cost the students nothing
but adults it cost $14.00.
Students had to be at
SEAS at 6:00 a.m. We rode
the Arnold Ferry to the island. Once they got to the
Island they can do anything
they want. They had to bring
spending money and money
for lunch if they didn’t bring a
cold lunch. The Ferry left at
3:00 pm and we got back to
school around 6:00 pm.
Kolter who went last year
said, “It was a ball.” This
year it was fun but cold.
The PTC is paid the fee
for the students.

8th Grade Activity Night
By: Connor Archer and Jordan English
On May 30, 2008 at
6:30 pm, the 8th grade
had a night full of activities spent with their jovial
teachers. What did the
activities include? Tugof- war, scavenger hunt,
water balloon, whipped
cream fight, and triple
play.
What did the students bring to the activity
night? Students volunteered to bring items
such as; cups, plates,
and food. Other items
that they brought included a change of
clothing for the pudding
tug-of-war.
Here are some statements from students
who went to Activity
Night.
Sydni Zamarron said,
”Activity night was very
fun because I got to stick
my face in pie, and fall in
pudding.”
Erica Tompke said,
“The scavenger hunt was
really fun because everyone was chucking rocks,
and nobody was following
the rules.”
For the scavenger
hunt, the white team,
came in 1st place, the
gold team 2nd place and
the yellow team took 3rd
place.

American Idol (The Top 12)
By: Kelsey Knudsen and Emma Schmitz
American Idol is one of the most
watched singing competitions in
America, in fact it is so popular
that similar shows have been
made all over the world (Canadian
idol, and many others). Every year
millions of people from all over the
U.S. come and tryout to be on the
show, and they all have the same
goal, to become the next American Idol. The tryouts are funny to
watch, but it really doesn’t get interesting until they get down to the
top 12 contestants.
The pictures Below are the top
12 contestants for season seven.
They are in the order that they
Were eliminated. the top middle
are the judges for this show,
Simon, Paula, and Randy.
So far the American idols
have gone as:
Season1– Kelly Clarkson,
Season2– Ruben Studdard,
Season3– Fantasia Barrino,
Season4– Carrie Underwood,
Season5– Taylor Hicks,
Season6– Jordan Sparks.
According to the survey of
the 7th graders at our school, the
two Davids’ are tied for being the
most popular to win the competition. Jason got the second most
with 3 votes, and Syesha last
with 1. Everyone else didn’t have
any votes
In the 7th grade at our school
more people watch American Idol
then those that don’t watch it.
Thirty-One people watch it, and
Twenty-Eight people don’t watch
it. As you may have noticed
American idol is a popular subject at our school. Just listen in
the hallways for the latest news,
everybody is talking about it.
In the end David Cook won. It
was between the other David and
him.

SEAS Tennis
By: Corey Boudrie and Stephen Knape
SEAS Tennis has been
great this year. We are
learning a lot about the
sport and are building relationships with our classmates. Mr. Bandrowski is
teaching us a lot about
tennis. There is about 50
people in tennis. We
asked a couple people
what is there favorite part
of tennis.
Austin Currie says “My
favorite part is hitting the
balls hard.”
Nalee Riddell says “You
get to hang out with your
friends and have fun.” Basically you have fun being
with your friends and hitting
tennis balls. So, think about
playing tennis with your
friends next year.

MLG
By. Noah Corning-Hyman and Corey Boudrie
Remember when you
used to waste away the days
playing videogames and
striving to achieve that high
score? Well now, it can be
your career! Major League
Gaming is one of North
America’s first professional
videogame leagues. Some
of the games that the players
compete in for a large cash
prize are Halo 3, Gears of
War, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2,
and Call of Duty 4. The
championship prize for Halo
3 is $100,000!
There is even a player in
Grandville, Michigan called
David Walsh or “Walshy” as his
fellow gamers call him. He is
captain of the MLG team “Final
Boss” and that team won the
Halo 2 Championship in 2006.
In January 2008, ESPN.com
announced that they have entered an agreement with Major
League Gaming.
“I would LOVE to be in the
MLG when I’m older”, says
Noah,
I have been playing videogames
since I was five and it would be
so cool to get paid to play them!”
MLG is basically playing team
related games with your teammates. If you want to find out
more information about Major
League Gaming, go to

7th,8th,and 9th grade Baseball
By: Cole Gingras
The 7th and 8th grade baseball team is doing alright in
their season and it is almost
over. Their team consists of
19 players: Sean Sheldon,
Riley Bullough, Riley Corcaran, Ryan Mcdonnel, Tyler
Hansen, Jay Mawby, Geoff
Foster, Kody Kleinrichert,
Stephen Knape, Ben Yanska,
Marc Stein, Keith Gingras,
Cole Gingras, Jacob Peacok,
Kevin Banducci, Trevor
Waslowski, Ellis Rogers, Seth
Kellicut, and Brad Revett.
We have won more games
than we have lost and most
of our losses have been mistakes as a team. Our
coaches, Middleton, and
Pierce, are having a great
time with the team. Sometimes they have to sit some
kids out of the game because we have too many
players. Almost all Saturdays
we have a double header.
Our season is almost over
and we’ve had some good
games and some bad ones

There were three fathers to be in a hospital waiting
room, waiting for their babies to be born.
The first nurse comes out and tells the first father,
“Congratulations, you’re the father of twins.” He
says, “Great! I’m the manager for the Minnesota
Twins.”
The second nurse comes out and tells the father,
“Congratulations you’re the father of triplets.” He
says, “That’s cool, I work for 3M.”
The third father opens the window and jumps out.
The third nurse comes out, and asks “where’s the
third father?”
Jesus and Satan have an argument as to who is the better programmer.
This goes on for a few hours until they agree to hold a contest with God as
the judge.
They set themselves before their computers and begin. They type furiously
for several hours, lines of code streaming up the screen.
Seconds before the end, a bolt of lightning struck taking out the electricity.
Moments later, the power is restored, and God announces that the contest
is over. He asks Satan to show what he has come up with.
Satan is visibly upset, and cries, "I have nothing! I lost it all when the
power went out."
"Very well, then," says God, "let us see if Jesus fared any better."
One of the other fathers said, “He jumped out the
window”
Jesus enters a command, and the screen comes to life in vivid display, the
voices of an angelic choir pour forth from the speakers.
The nurse asks, “Why?”
Satan is astonished. He stutters, "But how?! I lost everything, yet
Jesus' program is intact! How did he do it?!"
He replied, “He works for Seven Up!”

There once was a man who had
two brothers and lived in Ireland.
One brother moved to Austria, and
the other to the US. Everyday he
would go and get 3 Cokes. One for
him, and one for each of his brothers, in honor of them. The townspeople all figured this out and admired him for honoring his brothers.
One day he only ordered 2 Cokes.
He did this for a few days, and finally the waiter said, “I’m sorry
about the loss of one of your brothers.” The man replies, “what are
you talking about?” The waiter says,
“Well, everyone assumed that one
of your brothers died because you
are not drinking three Cokes anymore.” The man replies, “No, I just
gave up Coke for Lent.”

A new pastor was visiting the homes of his parishioners.
At one house it seemed obvious that someone was at home,
but no answer came to his repeated knocks at the door.
Therefore, he took out a card and wrote "Revelation 3:20" on
the back of it and stuck it in the door.
When the offering was processed the following Sunday, he
found that his card had been returned. Added to it was this
cryptic message, Genesis 3:10."
Reaching for his Bible to check out the citation, he broke up in
gales of laughter.
Revelation 3:20 begins "Behold, I stand at the door and
knock." Genesis 3:10 reads, "I heard your voice in the garden
and I was afraid, for I was naked."
So a man walks into a bar…..
Falls to the ground and says “ouch!”.
