As you know, students in all grade levels will be expected to demonstrate high levels of mastery in specific content and skill areas. Heightened stress levels tend to be exhibited among students and staff during this time. Please remember that although these are high-stakes assessments, these tests are never to be viewed as the sole indicator of the mastery/ability level of a student, or the sole indicator of the effectiveness of a teacher. It is critical that we encourage students to take these assessments seriously, and we provide them access to many preparatory materials, but that we also maintain a positive, supportive school climate to minimize stress levels.
