As students settle into their routines for the school year, we are off to a
positive start. Students look great in their uniforms and most students
are arriving to school and classes on time ready to learn. Walking
through classrooms, I hear the students sharing text based evidence
in discussions and working collaboratively. Teachers are implementing
high level lessons to prepare students to be critical thinkers, patient
problem solvers, and effective readers, writers, listeners, and speakers. My hope is
that students will take advantage of the various opportunities this year to be involved in clubs, student organizations, community service, and athletics in addition
to focusing on academics. It’s going to be a great year!

Kristine Bennett

BDCHS Green Team
Here at Brooks DeBartolo, the “Green Team”
comes by every classroom and work station
Tuesday and Thursday afternoon to gather
used paper and plastic products for recycling.
Headed by our science teacher, Mrs. Bondoc,
the Green Team leads the initiative of helping
to protect out environment. Our students are
encouraged to be aware of what can be recycled and sort it into the correct receptacles.
Now, parents and others in the community can
join our push to help make our world a little
cleaner. We are collecting used inkjet printer
cartridges and toner cartridges to be recycled.
Every item donated will be fully recycled in
the most environmentally safe way possible
and also give BDCHS the opportunity to earn
cash in the process.
If you have any further questions, please email
Mrs. Bondoc at [email protected].
