DMU eVo series
5-axis technology as standard, high
machining performance and precision.
The DMU 40 / 60 / 80 eVo combine the flexibility of modern universal milling machines and the
performance of vertical machining centres. Highlights such as the innovative machine concept,
the optional linear drives in the X- and Y-axes and the tried-and-tested swivelling rotary table are
features which give these machines maximised productivity and flexibility. The NC swivelling rotary
table with its wide swivel range allows 5-axis simultaneous interpolation for machining optimal
surfaces and expands the possible applications of these machines in all fields, both in the complete
machining of individual parts and in series production. Be it mechanical engineering, tool and
mould making, medical, automotive or aerospace technology, wherever precision and flexibility are
as important as time and cost savings, the machines in the DMU eVo range have the most efficient
technology for optimised production.

The full DMU eVo range
from sizes 40 to 80.
The new DMU 40 / 60 / 80 eVo are world-class successors to the proven and successful DMU eVo
generation. They are fully redesigned as gantry machines, which significantlyincreases rigidity and
precision. Unlike the classic gantry design, the 'optimised gantry' provides improved accessibility,
even from the side, as well as longer travels and a larger working area in a smaller footprint. The
tried and tested swivelling rotary table concept was retained but the table load, dynamics and swivel
range have been significantly increased.
DMU 40 / 60 / 80 eVo machines with ball screws provide cost-effective entry into 5-axis machining. A dynamic package featuring linear drives in the X- and Y-axes is available for the highest
productivity. Options such as integrated turn-mill technology and a pallet changer make this range
a universal manufacturing tool.

due to the optimised gantry design.
The construction of the machine with minimal axis overhangs provides unparalleled stability
and rigidity across the entire working area and delivers impressive long-term precision.
The structure of the Y-axis slideway and the round enclosure offer easy access to the working
area, which can be accessed from the front even when the machine is connected to handling
systems. The favourable ergonomics of the machine are exemplified by the short working depth
from the front and the optimal loading height.
A tool magazine positioned on the left and the chain-type carrier design ensure a similar
set-up configuration for all sizes of magazine.

exceptional machining performance and power reserve.

Perfectly coordinated high-tech features in a compact design guarantee high precision
and efficiency. For example, the tool changer with double gripper offers impressive
speed and a 5-second chip-to-chip time, while the versatile magazine options provide
flexibility for housing 30, 60, 120 or even 210 tools. The wear-free linear drives in the
X- and Y-axes of the dynamic variant boast unparalleled precision and 80 m/min rapid
traverse.
In addition to the standard 20,000 rpm speedMASTER® motor spindle, 15,000,
24,000 and 40,000 rpm spindles provide tailored solutions for all requirements.
An internal coolant supply of up to 80 bar and minimum quantity lubrication are
additional options and guarantee optimal results with excellent surface quality.
Whether as a basic or customised machine, the DMU eVo range can broaden your
machining horizons.

Top options at the best price-performance ratio. The DMU 40 / 60 / 80 eVo meet these
requirements perfectly. Non-productive times are reduced and productivity is increased thanks to rapid traverse up to 60 rpm in the B-axis and the C-axis as standard.
The enormous swivel range of the B-axis generates a machining angle of up to –20
degrees and significantly increases the possibility of full 5-axis machining.
In addition to the NC swivelling rotary table, torque tables rated at 80 rpm in the
B-axis and 150 rpm in the C-axis are available, as well as a mill / turn table rated at
up to 1,200 rpm which maximises the range of components the machine can produce.

Off-line set-up during machining and short pallet-changing times reduce downtime

only slightly increases the overall footprint whilst maintaining good accessibility to the
working area.
