CEO’s
Thank you for your continued trust in POPA Federal
Credit Union and for
choosing us for your financial service needs. The credit union has gone through
many changes over the years, however our core focus has and will always be
providing world class personalized service to you. With your support, the credit
union reported strong positive earnings and growth for the year.
We continue to add well-trained and knowledgeable staff to ensure that our credit
union representatives are available to serve you. While we have experienced
some “growing pains” not unlike most organizations, I can assure you our
management team is working tirelessly to resolve these issues. In addition, the
credit union introduced many service enhancements last year including a lowrate VISA® Platinum Credit Card, a robust and convenient Mobile Banking App,
instantly issued debit cards at our Cerritos Branch and improved security with our
EMV chipped credit cards.
In 2016, we will continue to focus on exceptional personalized service and
providing value-driven services that help add convenience in transacting business
with us. This includes a web-based loan document signing solution, call center
enhancements, a streamlined loan application process, financial planning
services and enhanced mobile banking features. You will also see our Cerritos
Branch undergo a remodel with changes to help provide a more engaging branch
experience through the use of an open floor-plan and technology enhancements.
Thank you for your continued support and trust in your credit union! Our success
would not be possible if not for the confidence you place in POPA FCU. We are
dedicated to providing unparalleled service to our law enforcement
member family.
I am proud to say that POPA Federal Credit Union is prepared and well-positioned
to enhance membership value in the coming year and is dedicated to helping you
achieve your financial goals.
Ray Bartus, CEO of POPA FCU

Top Identity Theft Prevention Tips
1. P
rotect your Social Security Number – Don’t carry your Social Security card in your wallet.
2. F ight “phishing” and don’t take the bait – Do not respond to any request to verify your account number or password via text
message, email or regular mail. Bottom line: Never give out your personal information – unless you made the contact.
3. P
olish your password practices – Use different and strong passwords for
all of your accounts by having at least eight characters, including a mix of
letters, numbers, and symbols. Good password practices are work, but fixing
an identity theft problem is hard labor!
4. C
heck your credit reports for free – Protect against identity theft by
monitoring your credit history. You can get one free credit report every
year from each of the three national credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian and
TransUnion. You can also order your free annual credit reports by phone at
877.322.8228 or online at www.annualcreditreport.com
5. C
heck your statements – Review your credit card bills and bank statements
often and routinely. Check carefully for any unauthorized charges or
withdrawals and report them immediately if there is suspected fraud.
