the Glenview Historic District consider our
neighborhood one of Memphis’s best kept
secrets. This area with its unique

PRESIDENT’S CORNER
Greetings neighbors,
In spite of this time of turmoil, a lagging
economy, unemployment, and uncertainty
we still hold our neighborhood in high esteem. We are in the final stages of preparing
for our Home and Garden Tour, and the
chairperson needs
everybody’s support.
Thanks to great neighborhood leaders, we
have completed
several noteworthy tasks
this year such as:
Neighborhood clean-ups led by Mr. Covington and his crew aided by the Hell Lover’s
(Motorcycle Club Members).
SUMMER 2009 VOL VIII
Glenview National Night Out by Marie Miller
Members and guests of the o f t h e G l e n v i e wEdgewood Manor Area Association ( G E M A A )
gathered at the Glenview Community Center for a
National Night Out which was hosted by the members
of GEMAA. This year the neighbors enjoyed hotdogs,
corndogs, hamburgers, potato chips, sweets, water
and drinks. The adults especially enjoyed visiting
with their neighbors and friends. In addition, t h e
children had a great time playing games inside and
outside of the Community Center. The night was a
success through the door prizes, games and good
music. In attendance, were guests from the Sherriff
Department Union Station Precinct as well as
members from the local Fire Station, making their
rounds to promote crime prevention.
