The North Suburban YMCA Art Academy provides experiences for
preschoolers to create art. Parent or caregiver must be present.
Dress up like a rock star and sing karaoke style. We’ll dance, party, and play
some games, too.

We’ll sing, groove, and karaoke with hot cocoa and snacks. Share your

Project Linus • Become a Blanketeer
Saturday, January 26, 2-3 PM • Youth Program Room
Registration begins December 29
A special opportunity for kids in grades 1-8 to earn service hours. Service
Buddies will make blankets for the Project Linus Chicagoland Chapter to
be distributed to local hospitals, shelters, and social service agencies serving
children in crisis. Grades 5-8 must arrive at 1:30 PM for briefing.

Wonder by R.J. Palacio is the story of unlikely hero August Pullman, a boy
born with severe facial disfigurations, who dreams of being ordinary.

Sunday, January 20, 2-3 PM • Registration underway
Celebrate Inaugural Weekend with a great American President. Michael
Krebs and Debra Ann Miller deftly portray the first couple, as they
share stories about struggles of the Civil War and their personal lives in
Springfield and Washington. Bring your camera for a meet & greet after
the show. An enriching performance for all ages. Not recommended for
children under five; children must be accompanied by an adult.

Registration is required for all Preschool Storytime and Toddlertime sessions.
Registration will be first-come, first-served for all time slots. Preference is
given to Glenview Library cardholders during the one-week registration period.

Decorate valentines for hospitalized veterans and soldiers overseas.
Valentines are collected for the national effort, Valentines for Vets. Schools,
churches, scout groups, and clubs are encouraged to participate in this

Youth Services Desk by Friday, February 1.

High School volunteers can help shine a light on your student’s homework.
Thirty-minute sessions for homework, reading, and math skills practice will
be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Children may be grouped by
subject and grade level. Just drop in.

Chocolate Dipped Creations

Kelli McDonald, Glenbrook South’s Family and Consumer Science Instructor,
will demonstrate how to make decadent chocolate creations. Dip Oreo
cookies, Rice Crispy treats, and other sweets in melted chocolate for a taste
sensation. All materials provided. Ages 13–18.
Gamer’s Paradise
Fridays, January 11 & February 8, 5-9 PM • Community Room
Register by January 10 & February 7
Play with the Library’s Nintendo Wii, XBOX360, Playstation 3, and game
collection. Big screens and boomchairs make this a gamer’s paradise. Special
thanks to D’Agostino’s Pizza and Pappi’s Pizza for donating to winter teen
game nights. A special raffle will be held on the January game night for a
$25 Game Stop gift card. Ages 13–18.
