Highlights of Session
The Session of the First Cumberland Presbyterian
Church, Murfreesboro, TN, met for the regular
meeting on August 15, 2016.

September has come around again! School is back in session, not
only for our children, but also for the young adults at MTSU. With
that influx of thousands more people in our city, we have some opportunities to share the word of God and maybe a bit more crazy
traffic.

Our first annual Golf Tournament is coming up. It will be held at
Champion's Run Golf Course on October 15. We need sponsors and
we need golfers. Sponsors can sponsor a tee, a green, or they can give a
prize for the golfers who will play. We need your help! Wherever you do
business, especially with local businesses, ask those businesses if they
would consider sponsoring the tournament. The forms for sponsorship
were e-mailed recently, but if you need a copy, please see me and I'll get
you a copy.
Also, I will be asking this month for donations from you all for our goody
bags and for the lunch that will be provided for the golfers. Goody bags
will have things like crackers, water, golf tees, golf balls, and other small
items that each golfer will receive as a thank you for playing. Lunch will be
hamburgers, fixin's, side items, and dessert. The more we can have
donated to the tournament, the better our net income will be. Thank you
in advance for your help!

Food Bank
Now that the regular busy summer is about
over, I’m trusting that all of us will resume
filling the Food Bank crate each week. With all
our summer activities games to watch, practice for everything, hot weather, visitors and family outings, it has been
difficult to remember the crate. However, our fall and
winter schedule is upon us and I hope that
everyone will remember the folks who really
need our donations for the crate.

Prime Timers
Tuesday, September 27, 2016, the Prime
Timers' trip will be to the Corvette Museum,
Bowling Green, KY. Bring $$ ($8.00) for the
museum and $$ for lunch. The bus will be
leaving the church parking lot at 8:30 a.m. There is a signup sheet on the bulletin board outside the church office.

CPWM Guest Speaker
On Tuesday, September 20 at 7 PM, Candice Carter,
founder of “Last Call 4 Grace”, will be the guest speaker.
This ministry offers aid and rescue for human trafficking, sexual
abuse victims, domestic violence, the homeless, and abandoned/
abused children.
They do this by offering food and shelter, adoption/foster care
support, abstinence support classes, discipleship training,
counseling, mobile clothing ministry and health wellness
counseling classes.
Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.
