MEN’S BATTLEFIELD CONFERENCE @ FBC ON OCT. 20TH
We are having a men’s conference right here at FBC
on the subject of “Purity – Men’s Greatest Battle”. The
conference runs from 9:00 AM until 2:00PM (arrive
around 8:30AM to register). Cost will be $10/person
which includes lunch and a special gift for everyone at
the end of the conference, so be sure to stay until the
end. We have kept the cost low so as to encourage you to bring one or more of your
male friends to this conference.
There will be 3 breakout sessions dealing with Marriage, Sharing your Faith and
Devotional.
The keynote speaker will be Bob Reehm of the Navigators who is the author of “The
War Within: Gaining Victory in the Battle for Sexual Purity”
Please sign up in the foyer so we have an estimate of how much food to prepare.
With the upcoming election we all need to consider these measures when we vote:

MEN’S MINISTRY CONGREGATIONAL SURVEY
Here is another interesting set of data received from the Men’s Survey we conducted a few
months ago. You can see there are a lot of things that our men would like to get involved in and
we need those who indicated that they would like to lead some of these activities to step forward
so we can get them on the schedule for 2013. Please see Doug Block to schedule.

MEN’S SMALL GROUP MEETINGS:
Two small groups have used the Courageous Living
Study, from the movie, and all agree that it is a good
study. The leadership material is available (including
DVD) if any group wants to use it. Just see Doug
Block.
Also, Doug Block has a copy of the Courageous movie DVD if you would like to show it to your group.
From Conway Coe: Our Wednesday night group will be meeting again stating August 8th
7:30pm at the fireside room. We will be studying the Book of Daniel.
Several small groups are on summer recess so please contact the leader to find out when
the group will start up again.

There are three basic reasons we exist as a church.
To BELIEVE, To BELONG, To BE LIGHT
BELIEVE - To have a faith relationship with God.
Our church wants to know God, trust God and love God.
As we worship and learn about Him we want to grow in our faith.
BELONG - To have a love relationship with the family of God.
Our church wants to express love throughout the faith community
in relational and tangible ways.
BE LIGHT - To have a redemptive relationship with the world.
Our church wants to make a difference locally and globally with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Check out our Believe-Belong-Be light video here http://vimeo.com/17007726
As men of our church we must practice Believe, Belong, and Be Light in our community. In
part we do this when we invite men to come to our events, to attend our church, and to
make them feel welcome when they are here.
Joshua 24:15 (NIV)
15
But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this
day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the
Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me
and my household, we will serve the LORD.
