Current Projects and Developments
Did You Know? (ctd.)
LIMS 2: The first development concerning the “LIMS 2” is in progress
at bilacon, Berlin. A trial version will be implemented in Q1 2016 and
in addition there are currently partial modules of the new system in
the different departments preparing for final release. Meanwhile colleagues at lifeprint, QTS and CFL/ PIXIS are testing a light version of
LIMS 2 to be implemented and in use during first part of Q1 2016.
Data Center: A Tentamus data centre has been set up and is fully operational. We are pleased as the center forms the basis for a secure and
state of the art foundation for our technology needs.
New bilacon Laboratory Building: bilacon’s new laboratory building took shape and after furnishing the lab space they processed the
first samples on November 17th! This new construction is a major milestone in the successful development of bilacon.
The new building houses all the latest equipment, and with an area
of about 6000m² we are able to assure the highest quality of service
in light of increasing requirements in the field of quality control and
hygiene.
Additional sites within Tentamus Group that are busy with construction activities are BAV Institute, ARL, CFL/ PIXIS and Analyst Laboratories. Together between these locations there will be 4000m² of additional space for new ideas and developments!

Tentamus Life – a Day of Alessa Neumann at lifeprint GmbH
Alessa Neumann, 21 years,
Agricultural Technical Assistant (ATA):
“In the morning there is a
laboratory meeting at which
the daily work will be divided among the laboratory
staff. Today I am responsible
for the PCR. First I make sure
which samples are dated for
today. If not all are ground,
homogenized and extracted
yet, this has to be done first.
Thereafter, the detection of
the analysis parameter by
real-time PCR is carried out.
Then I evaluate the run according to strict quality controls, whereupon I transmit and review the results. The assessment is done differently depending on the matrix and the customer.
In addition, I take care to build alongside the new LIMS as well as other IT issues within the
company.”
