HIGHEST Network of excellence November 2004 OPENING EUROPEAN MARKETS Priority leader EURO-OFFICE Business Welcome Package EURO-EXPO E WISTA-MANAGEMENT GMBH, Berlin, Germany URO-OFFICE initiative Goal: The goal is to help innovative high-tech start-ups and entrepreneurs accessing new markets and to internationalise their business. The Euro-Office network was launched in 2002 by CICOM Organisation in Sophia Antipolis, Alpes Maritimes and Otaniemi Science Park in Helsinki (now Technopolis Ventures Ltd.) and later was extended to the whole HIGHEST network partners. Today it counts 9 members and several new members will follow. For membership the main pre-condition is that the potential member can offer a high-tech environment for example a Science Park, High Tech Incubator, Business Innovation Centre. Pre-condition for new partners: "active membership for the first 6 month (to receive or to send one company) Process: The Euro-Office offer consists of an office in a business environment with access to a nearby conference room as well as several services and support by the park management / incubator management - 3 days for free. To present the Euro-Office network, to promote it and to make it visible for a broad public a web site B (www.euro-office.net) has been developed. On these pages one can find a list with contact details of the current member regions including links, the provided services, links to events and news of the partner regions, etc. Further more a flyer was created and printed to promote this initiative also during fairs and other events. The signup process for companies that are interested in using one of the Euro-Offices is as follows: The interested party contacts of desired partner region of interest e.g. regarding Contacts Business concepts getting an overview on possibilities for co-operation The provider makes proposal - basic offer and requested services The proposal will be confirmed A contract will be developed (a written form is not mandatory) Period in which Euro-Office will be used In advance according to requirements: contacts for period of use are made, schedule prepared, documents are prepared, etc. - - - - usiness Welcome Package Goal: Helping High-tech start-ups and Companies accessing new markets and internationalise their business Process: Providing 3 months of office use & services for moderate fixed price Web based info and application (requires feasible business plan) Case study: The Berlin Business Development Corporation International (BBDC) offers technology-oriented companies, that are interested in expanding, moving headquarters or opening up new offices a special service named "Berlin Business Welcome Package": Use of office and services (according to the needs) Follow-up - next steps made accordingly Contact: www.euro-office.net Success Stories: The French company CILAS, to which WISTA-MG has maintained relations with for a long time, used Euro-Office in Berlin in March 2004. Company was looking for partners in laser technology. CILAS had an defined business plan. In preparation for their stay the operating company of the Science and Technology Park Berlin Adlershof, WISTAMANAGEMENT GmbH, organized several meetings with favoured companies and institutes at the campus and in the region and managed the exchange of information between them. In short, this was a great success for all. The reason for CILAS to come to Berlin for just this date in March was the Laser-Optik-Berlin (LOB), a well-known biannual fair and congress in Berlin Adlershof regarding optical technologies.
