Overview
On July 4th, 2013 The Salon, The Champagne Riot, and Wit's End join forces for a fourth year to present
another unforgettable vintage Fourth of July extravaganza. This year, we'll be lighting up not one, but TWO of
NYC's hottest rooftops with the finest vintage entertainment, hot music, and raucous patriotic revelry! For the
first time, LIBERTY BELLE has partnered Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing, for even more dancing, and live big band music; plus several of our performers will be featured on the Lincoln Center stage, and
LIBERTY BELLE is the official July 4th after-party!
Since 2010, the LIBERTY BELLE has become one of the top July 4th parties in New York City selling out every
year, garnering top media exposure, and annually attracting over 1,000 of the city’s most stylish people. During
the summer of “Gatsby,” following the release of the hit movie, the LIBERTY BELLE is a must-attend event as
it encompasses the same hot jazz, flapper era. The LIBERTY BELLE continues to feature an all-star lineup of
live music, classic burlesque, and Vaudeville, plus dancing, fireworks, and delicious cocktails under the stars on
the rooftops of the Empire Hotel Rooftop (44 W63rd St), and The DL (95 Delancey St). All ticketholders can
freely go between both “uptown” and “downtown” venues. The special “combo ticket” allows guests to also
attend Midsummer Night Swing at Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park, which is across the street, and freely go
between all 3 venues!

Venue #2: “Uptown”
The LIBERTY BELLE “Uptown” at THE EMPIRE HOTEL ROOFTOP has been the home of the LIBERTY BELLE since 2010 and is nested atop the 12th floor of a four-star hotel and features two gorgeous outdoor
rooftops and an enclosed lounge. Enjoy the Fourth with our sensational performers, drinks, style and atmosphere! Headlining “uptown” on the main stage will be The Hot Sardines playing hot jazz, Dixieland, French
chanson & gutbucket blues; and Brooklyn hot jazz sensations The Red Hook Ramblers. On the East Terrace,
the most dapper bandleader, Dandy Wellington and his Band will serenade guests with jazz standards with
elegance and style. Following Midsummer Night Swing's "Battle of the Bands," member of both battling
bands will come together for a post-rumble midnight jam session featuring musicians from both The George
Gee Swing Orchestra and Mora’s Modern Rhythmists. The LIBERTY BELLE also welcomes Todd
Robbins, one of the forefathers of neo-vaudville and sides show scene. To top it off, be dazzled by mesmerizing classic burlesque performances by Medianoche, and Hazel Honeysuckle, plus our gorgeous stage kittens
and Go-Go dancers Miss Kacie Marie, Little Motown, and Bunny Buxom. LIBERTY BELLE “Uptown”
will be hosted by the most stylish of MC’s, Dandy Wellington.
Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing
LIBERTY BELLE is thrilled to have partnered with Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing, for even
more dancing and live big band music! Midsummer Night Swing's "Battle Of The Bands" on July 4th takes
a bi-coastal approach to a rumble by pairing The George Gee Swing Orchestra (NYC) against Dean Mora’s
Modern Rhythmists (LA). This event offer swing a dance lesson from 6:30-7:15pm by Jamie Shannon and
Tony Fraser, a vintage fashion contest, and bands performing from 7:30-10pm on a large outdoor dance floor.
Several LIBERTY BELLE performers will be featured on the Midsummer Night Swing stage including a
dance performance by Gin Minsky and Dandy Wellington, along with stage helpers Minx Arcana and
Aurora Black. Following this special July 4th Midsummer Night Swing, LIBERTY BELLE is the official
after-party, and members of both battling big bands will come together for a post-rumble midnight jam session.
The special “combo ticket” allows guests to attend both LIBERTY BELLE, and Midsummer Night Swing (at
Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park - across the street from The Empire Hotel), and lets them freely go between
all 3 venues! “Combo Tickets” can be purchased either on the LIBERTY BELLE website, or Lincoln Center’s
website, box office, or on the day of the event.
Midsummer Night Swing 2013 is sponsored by Macy’s. Midsummer Night Swing is made possible by Charina
Endowment Fund and Janice Savin Williams and Christopher J. Williams/The Williams Group, LP.

ABOUT THE PRODUCERS
The Salon
At the forefront of the "Retro Nouveau" scene in New York City, THE SALON has been producing events since
2001, and presented by PROHIBITION PRODUCTIONS. Featuring live jazz,
big band, burlesque, swing dancing, artisan cocktails, and performances of all
kind. Started by composer and producer Patrick Soluri in his apartment, the tradition of great salons from the past have been reinterpreted for the modern world
with the finest talents in vintage-inflected music, mixology and performance that
New York City has to offer. THE SALON is held at some of New York's top
venues such as The Edison Ballroom, The Copacabana, The Players Club, The
DL, and Galapagos Art Space, among others and has gained a reputation as one of the best parties in New York.
The Salon specializes in multi-room live music and dance events, with multiple acts performing simultaneously,
often ranging from 20-60 performers per event. The Salon pulls on average from 250 to 800+ guests per event;
from swing dancers to Loungers, to music aficionados, and everyone in between. THE SALON is often cited and
covered in the press, radio, TV and blogs including the Wall Street Journal, Time Out NY, Huffington Post, NY
Post, NY NewsDay, WBGO, WNBC, MTV, Metromix as well as international press and blogs. www.thesalon.biz
Wit’s End
Premiering in February 2009, Wit's End is New York's monthly celebration of Jazz Age lifestyle, music, and aesthetics; and is brought to you by Diane Naegel and Don Spiro. We celebrate the elegance and flair of New York
nightlife of days gone by with a vintage cocktail menu, free dance lesson, live hot
jazz, and guests having a jaunty evening in their 1920s/30s best. Loungers, dancers,
neo-flappers, vintage lovers, and nostalgia junkies combine to form a truly unique
melange on the last Saturday of the month at Flute Bar- Midtown (formerly Texas
Guinan's speakeasy, Club Intime).
www.clubwitsend.com
The Champagne Riot
The Champagne Riot is a vintage celebration that serves up an intoxicating cocktail of Hot Jazz, Scintillating
Burlesque and Vaudvillian Frivolity. This fizzy-buzzy party and performance event
takes as its inspiration the early twentieth century's American spirit of rebellion and
celebration. Each Riot features live music, old glamour burlesque, and a variety of
vaudeville and circus performers. Cultivating an aesthetic of "vintage fantasy", the
Champagne Riot combines elements both new and old to create an atmosphere that
is at once both nostalgic and entirely novel. The Champagne Riot is produced by
burlesque artist Miss Jezebel Express, jazz sweethearts Gelber & Manning, tapdancing talent Gin Minsky, and that most elegant of emcees, Dandy Wellington.
