Message from Our Pastor

My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes,
As I mentioned a couple weeks ago in my homily the Archbishop has
asked us to participate in a trial / model program offered by the
Archdiocese of Miami and Catholic Leadership Institute to form parish
life around faithful disciples of Christ who are comfortable sharing their
faith; that is, evangelizing. We have a team of about 10 men and women
working with me in this program.
At our first gathering I had the pleasure of introducing our team to
Stephen Colella, the new director of the Office of Evangelization and
Parish Life for the Archdiocese of Miami. He was very impressed to
hear of the work we are already doing in evangelization and especially
by the fact that our parish groups, in addition to living out their own
charism, are working together to bring Christ to the people of Kendall.
Our experience in this can be a great help to the parishes of the
Archdiocese of Miami.
The conference was a great beginning and I would like to pass on some
great resources that they shared with us. You can find these on the
internet or by downloading their applications on your smart device.
“focus equip” is a website and application whose primary audience is
college students but it is really a great resource for us all. They have
short videos and training resources on encountering Christ and living the
Christian life. Another great resource, especially for those who have
questions about matters related to faith and religion, has been developed
by the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. The name of the site is
“Rediscover”.
As we go forward I will continue to share our experience with you. In
the meantime: check out these sites! God bless.

Mi Querida Familia de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes,
Como mencioné hace un par de semanas en mi homilía, el Arzobispo
nos ha pedido que participemos en un programa de prueba / modelo
ofrecido por la Arquidiócesis de Miami y el Instituto de Liderazgo
Católico para formar la vida parroquial alrededor de fieles discípulos de
Cristo que se sientan cómodos compartiendo su fe; es decir, la
evangelización. Contamos con un equipo de cerca de 10 hombres y
mujeres que trabajan conmigo en este programa.
En nuestra primera reunión tuve el placer de presentar nuestro equipo a
Stephen Colella, el nuevo director de la Oficina de Evangelización y
Vida Parroquial de la Arquidiócesis de Miami. El estaba muy
impresionado al oír de la obra que ya estamos haciendo en la
evangelización y en especial por el hecho de que nuestros grupos
parroquiales, además de vivir su propio carisma, están trabajando juntos
para llevar a Cristo a la gente de Kendall. Nuestra experiencia en esto
puede ser de gran ayuda a las parroquias de la Arquidiócesis de Miami.
La conferencia fue un gran comienzo y me gustaría transmitir algunos
grandes recursos que compartieron con nosotros. Usted puede encontrar
estos en Internet o mediante la descarga de sus aplicaciones en su
dispositivo inteligente. "focus equip" es un sitio web y aplicación cuyo
público principal son los estudiantes universitarios, pero en realidad es

For centuries, the Catholic Church has performed more works of charity than any other organization in the world. Why? Because

despair. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we nourish and educate our children, both spiritually and intellectually. We assist the poorest
of our parishes and schools so that all persons may encounter Jesus Christ. We provide shelter for the homeless. As Catholics, we consistently defend and respect the dignity of all human life, work to eliminate prejudice, and promote social justice.
We journey together by sharing in the sacraments—from baptism to receiving the Eucharist, to confirmation and penance, to marriage and anointing the sick. And this year, we are blessed with sixty-five men studying in our seminaries answering their call to the priesthood to become shepherds of Christ here in south Florida. You make all this possible.
